 You know I love me some mixed drinks, especially rum

Matter of fact, just yesterday I made myself a smoothie with frozen pineapple and mango chunks, spiced rum, coconut rum, and a bit of orange juice. It was soooo gooood

There's a lot of people like me though who are on the perpetual payment plan, where the payments just keep going month to month, so renewing isn't really a factor.

Talking about people knowing or not knowing about Harry Potter 2.0, it reminded me of a story I read online about a guy crying in the lobby of a Disney Hotel because he just realized he had spent a ton of money to take his kids to Harry Potter and went to the wrong place.

I've done 2 surveys recently for Universal and both asked whether I knew if Disney and Universal were separate so it's an ongoing issue and probably always will be. So, I can believe that even after Harry Potter 2.0 opens, there will be people oblivious to the fact that there are two HP areas. Some people don't pay attention to these things.

Heck, If you've taken a recent Disney survey you'll know that they list Islands of Adventure Universal Studios and Harry Potter theme park all separately

Seeeeoooooo... Has anyone seen the actual engineering elevation drawings of the London facades? That or the color elevations (which I LOVE to peruse).

Does it make me a bad person for laughing at this?

I only grabbed two photos because most of the work is happening in Diagon Alley, where it is difficult to get photos:

What is that wooden surround? Is it a cast or are they going to restucco the wood to become part of the cornice. This suggests that they had already sawed off all of the overhanging molding prior to putting the wood in place. What an odd solution if so.

Thanks for the pics, inferi88!

Teebs, I was just wondering the same. Maybe they will re-stucco over the wood. Obviously the previous fix-ups failed to withstand the elements or whatever messed them up

Did I hear that they're eventually going to put lamps on the waterfront along the outside of Diagon Alley?

If you look at the full size image it almost looks like the wood is staying. Poor choice of material IMO. On the other hand it could be being used as formwork. If that's the case, it appears they will be reducing the overhang.

Hopefully this time they don't rush anything or figured out the materials issue that was causing the failure originally. I suspect it was more rushing to get it all finished and open for HHN crowds than a purely materials issue, but we'll see how this batch of fixes holds up. I really don't want to see this turn into an issue where they're repairing once or twice a year, because at that point it will be a line item they'll look past and cut in 5 years, resulting in a likely less than beautiful permanent fix.

No pics of course, but it looks like the bypass portion of the HE track is complete.

Possibly a form, but IDK for sure.
