So I saw Sinbad again the other day for the first time in years. Changed my mind. Still not backing down from no Potter, but please UC please get rid of that forsaken piece of crap :bang:

Agree to the highest level. The probelm is that Potter was built into that corner with nowhere to grow. I can't see any way to make it to the Sinbad theater or any logical part of Potter that would go there. Diagon Alley would be nice but it seems odd since Hogsmede would only be 10 feet away. A ride on the Hogwarts Express would be cool but unless they have a dementor attack (which is already done in FJ) or a death eater raid, it would not be that exciting. There would also have to be a reason for the train to go back to Hogsmede because I can't see Universal making a fake British train station that is so close to Hogsmede where you left in the first place.

It would be cool if they made a train along the lines of Disaster transport It doesn't move far but it seems to be a long journey .With HD screens like spiderman showing the trip (flying car)there
as the connection between hogsmead and diagon alley.

We've already discussed this. It's not actually the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the death eaters aren't real, and Hogsmeade isn't right next to Hagrid's hut. We are in a theme park - things don't always work seamlessly.
If we had Diagon Alley I could see them including the train, it could be a "long journey" where we're only on the train for, oh, 10 minutes (probably less), and it could go both ways so we can enter and leave Hogsmeade...
I see Death Eaters coming in the trains as a viable option, we're all muggles touring the WWoHP, they could be trying to attack us, you know? (Deathly Hallows reference!)...

After rereading HBP and especially the Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley scenes I could definitely see them making that version of Diagon Alley after Voldemort's return. Because while the Hogsmeade Hogwarts part is basically before the end of GOF then Diagon Alley could be from OOTP on complete with Gringotts coaster, street vendors selling illegal magic stuff (Mundungus) and Ministry Officials running to and fro. Plus give an excuse to build Weasley's Wizard Wheezes and open up the original Ollivanders sans Ollivander and say its been reopened by the Ministry so people can get wands. Plus with the kind of effects that they can do with HHN we could get the darker part of Harry Potter world that we would want without it having to be an HHNlike setting. Granted this would probably never happen but I thought it would be a cool alternative and make everything feel different and not make Diagon Alley identical to Hogsmeade. Plus you could have Death Eater wanted posters plastered everywhere.

Not sure what they would do but I think it would be important possibly to have a second section designated as the forest or create a sharp contrast in visual aesthetic from the Hogsmeade environment I don't know enough about Harry Potter to make a specific suggestion

Whatever they do build, I really hope something involving the dark lord is included.

I get that completely. I am not going to boycott the Hulk because there is a coaster coming out of a science lab. I just don't see the point of having two shoping districts that sell the same things 10 feet from each other. I feel that even though it isn't exact. WWoHP is treated a bit better in terms of theming and continuity. At the end of the day though they should still just get rid of Sinbad. Oh, and Death Eaters are totally real dude.

People...there's absolutely no way they're going to build a dilapidated, run down, burned-out, depressing Diagon Alley. It'll be the one you see from books 1-4, not the later books.

And the simulator is just not gonna happen. I think we need to stop obsessing about it.

I will say one thing, if phase 2 happens, then it will cost at least as much as phase 1. The themeing for such a large area would be over the top dollar wise. If there is gringotts (ahem... :look:) then it will be an even tighter controlled mummy style system.

--- Update ---

If it happens, it is going to be expensive... very expensive if it (and it will have to) holds to the standard previously set. Has anyone seen mummy style magnetic system used on a steep slope? Meaning a controlled slow-glide down a steep slope. Are there any such rides with this feature?

Nope, the Hulk and Mummy are the only 2 rides in existence that I know of that use the row of wheels to control speed insted of a LIM system, but they've always controlled an ascent, never a descent.

Um... Mummy uses LIMs for its launch. Hulk is unique with its wheel system.

The only multi vehicle ride that I know of with a controlled decent is journey to the center of the earth at Tokyo Disneysea. And that uses the Test Track tech.

A very long and steep LIM decent grab and stop could be incredibly effective/terrifying if it was used in the proper context. Especially multiple grabs and drops. Not sure if it is possible but it could be cool. The effect I am getting at is very much like the car caught in the tree in JP movie and slowly breaking branches coming down (imagine your in the car in this example) or the large science van over the cliff in JP II movie. The jerk and stop to impending doom. Use your own imaginations as to how this could be applied to a gringotts ride scenario.
