There is currently a gap of Hogwarts Express track from Kings Cross until halfway behind the Mummy soundstage. Here are some aerial views from Attractions with a red box around the missing section of track......

My sources are telling me there is only one gap left in the track, and that is a small one between Mummy and King's Cross. And it is there intentionally so they can easily get big things (like large Robot-like themeing elements) into the center of the park.

Or a rather tall bus?

Hmm... That looks like a rather large area to simply get a theming element through - could there be another reason for the delay in building/placing the final piece of track?

I was thinking the same thing. If this was the only way, they'd have a really hard time getting thematic elements into the park after it was completed :bonk:

Well remember, whatever is carrying Optimus will be much larger than he is. And the sections with footers just may not have lined up perfectly with the entrance.

Is it the only way? No. But that doesn't mean it isn't the easiest, and it's not worth the hassle to complete the track and have it sit there.

They can haul huge stuff in and out of the park regardless of the track. The parade exit gate in Hollywood is a beeline to the center of the park. They also have two tower cranes to remove after potter is complete. I quicker think they have just refocused their priorities for the time being.

A tranformers statue has nothing to do with the potter track.

I agree why would the transformers statue be postponing the last track. I dont think universal is going to let the HP track let them stop bringing things in. Theres other ways to bring big things into the park. Guess will just see what happens.

I wasn't suggesting that they were holding up the track construction specifically for Optimus Prime, just that he would be something that would be easier to move if they wanted to bring him in through the Beetleguise Entrance. But there is no reason at this point to close up the gap since the trains aren't here, and the motor house isn't even close to finished. They will close the gap up when they have to.
