Oddly specific question, but has anyone done the Halloween event here? Worth it if I'm in DC area anyway? (Haven't been to this park since the mid-80s.)

Somewhat related, anything else Halloween related I should know about in Baltimore/DC?

I have heard good things about the Halloween event at KD, but bad things about the crowds that go there. BGW's used to be the better of the two, but by many accounts KD's is now the better event.

It needs to launch out of a Volcano in order for this to be a proper replacement.

A B&M wing launch would be pretty fun! I've been on the one in Holiday World and it's a lot of fun. This would be fun for KD.

I like it, wish they had something more iconic to replace the volcano but the layout seems fun.

I'm impressed with the fact that Cedar Fair (now Six Flags) has actually been theming their recent additions like this. It looks like 305 will also get a retheme as part of the area as well.

The new name is part of the ongoing rebranding of the section of Kings Dominion where the roller coaster is located as the Jungle X-Pedition area of the park.

I wonder if they will add some trees to actually make the coaster feel like it is in a jungle. I know that trees are against Cedar Fair's operating model but maybe it is time for a change.

Deep jungle theming seems like an easy replacement for deep space - will at least explain why it's always kinda muggy in there.

I think the perfect Fright of Fear retheme would be tapping into the nostalgia of Volcano. The show building already has a large octagonal structure; put together a solid budget and retheme it to a Volcano lol.

Would it be as good as the original? No, probably not. But hey, Busch Gardens Williamsburg is using nostalgia to boost the general public's buzz for their new 2025 family invert.

Was Six Flags so bad that they have carried the Curse of Six (mismanagement and broken coasters) to Cedar Fair?

When you have an acquisition or merger Wall Street wants to see immediate results from reduced expenses. Taking out older, less popular, and more expensive to maintain rides fulfills that mandate.
