Unless there are crazy deals the other parks attendance is going to suffer at least the first few months. Hope they are ready to pulldown rip ride rocket.

USF is the worst rated park attraction-wise via Google Maps at 4.1 (all attractions in the park).

Just for reference, every other major park in the US has an average minimum of 4.5 stars for all attractions within the park.

Obviously this isn't an "all encompassing" dataset, but it's pretty wild to see USF be an outlier. It's not just fan talk, the public knows this park is in dire need of help.

We've talked about this elsewhere, but I'm not sure you can extrapolate that based on this data. The abysmal ratings for Fast and Furious Supercharged are what's pulling down Universal Studios Florida's average. But if you go to, say, TripAdvisor, you'll see Universal Studios Florida has pretty great ratings.

Not just F&F dragging the park down.
  • Villain-Con: 2.5
  • Fallon: 3.9
  • F&F: 2.0

Thanks for reminding me that I really do believe USF is the park most at risk for cannibalization post Epic’s opening.

Okay, but you're only underlining my point. Fallon's within normal parameters. People who leave Google reviews specifically do not like Villain Con and Fast and Furious: Supercharged, which does not necessarily mean people (even those same people who self select by leaving Google reviews) do not like Universal Studios Florida.

How long after Volcano Bay opened did it get added as an AP park?

makes me wonder if this is all about controlling capacity levels at Epic.

we did have a 3 park AP before VB opened (only had it that first year). I recall VB often hitting capacity during Early park entry. With VB, it is easy to stop folks from reaching the Island when park capacity is reached.

For Epic, currently, it just looks like they are just discouraging folks from going.

For whatever reason Fallong gets good guest scores in park. F&F on the other hand....

One of the last things Comcast wants is to go on a website like CNN or MSN and read the headline “Epic Universe opens with low attendance.”

Eh, disagree. That expectation is kinda baked in.

Think it’s 6 of 1 based on preference. There were people who championed those 2010 Potter opening crowds, while others despised it.

Magc Kingdom opened with only 10,000 people... they wanted a low opening so they scared people off.

I'd like to think I'm above it - but I'm not. If i have to buy 2 separate 3-day tickets to get multiple days at Epic.. I'll do it.

And I think that's what they're banking on.

I think single day passes will end up coming for GP sooner or later. They just can’t reveal the hand too early and sacrifice any potential multi day ticket sales.

Whether that will happen before or after opening remains to be seen.

You and other hardcore fans will do this, but the number of people willing to do this is small (purchasing multiple 1-day tickets for epic sure, but buying more than 1 multi-day/park ticket is absurd). The general public will balk and visit somewhere else.

For the price of two Epic-inclusive multi-day tickets, you can buy an annual pass to WDW with weekends (if local), a full year AP for the other 2 Universal parks, or a 4-5 day visit to WDW. Heck, I'd rather recommend a trip on a multi-day cruise for that price point or visit Disneyland lol

If you are not local, I do not recommend visiting Epic until it makes financial sense and rides are operating more reliably. Makes absolute 0 sense to purchase 2 multi-day/park tickets just for two days at Epic Universe, and risk the chance of a major E-ticket being down.

Multi-day tickets have been on sale since October; by now they have a good idea of what demand is shaping up to be.

Yeah. Beautiful park from what I see but I'm in no real hurry. As one who was in my 50/60's first attending the Florida theme parks, it wasn't that long ago that I experienced Studios, MK and AK for the first time. And just 14 years ago that I experienced IOA, DHS and EPCOT for the first time. For all intents and purposes, they were brand new unique experiences for me, like Epic will be. It was fun and cool the first time in each park, but honestly, it wasn't a big deal to me in the case of any of the parks. I liked the first experience, but I wouldn't say I loved it. So I expect Epic to play the same. I'll be happy to see a new park, but it's nowhere near real important to me. I'll be actually more happy just staying at Portofino, enjoying IOA, Studios & Citywalk, and the probable Epic day or two will be a nice side trip, but really nothing more. After the first day in it, a new park already seems like an old park. That's my personal perspective.
