A good way to think about this is these infrastructural improvements will be quality of life game changers for the next several decades of HHN (and regular park operations). We just have to sacrifice one year in the meantime.

And with those improvements on the way, that honestly takes the sting out of the long refurb rather nicely. It's a needed sacrifice for sure in the long run.

I may be too embarrassed to list them all. Lol.

- First in-park beer is always at Duff
- Last in-park beer is always at Back Water
- First City Walk meal is always Hard Rock
- We always have a “fancy” meal on a slow day at The Palm.
- As said, first HHN meal was always Finnegan’s.
- We always ended our first night with a nightcap at Bob Marley. But that ended this year due to a scheduling issue.

And our traditions may or may not include us hiding miniature Pokémon figures throughout the park to see if they survive until the next year. One may or may not have survived for 8 years now.

An outdoor bar with a mobile pickup window with some Finnegan's classic snacks like Burning Blade would be fantastic.

I wouldn't be shocked if they put up a "Finnegan's" food/drink booth/temp bar in the New York area to compensate for the temporary loss.

I'd be more shocked if they didn't do this, honestly. Similar to what they did with Mel's during HHN when it was closed.

Sad can’t be there for the closing so keep updates coming! Glad it sounds like the staff and their temporary homes should be worked out well, hope they will be ok during the refurb. Still crazy to think about HHN without Finns, but thinking there will be temp Finn bar put up?

New stand in central park for some of the food, other restaurants (Lombard's Confiscos, Mythos), duff, chez alcatrez. There's a live stream of this on youtube (Rick).

End of the night was bittersweet. Johnny finished up his 6-hour (!) set, then an off-duty Jan came on stage and gave a heartfelt toast. It's posted on the IU Twitter account. Then they played closing time over the speakers as the bar erupted in cheers and hugs.

Word from the groundlings is the new version will be "streamlined like Today Show Cafe," so I definitely feel like last night was the death of an icon.

Thanks for notifying of Jan’s toast on X made me wanna cry! It feels silly but this place truly was magical and a huge part of the Universal experience. I can only hope the fresh version can recapture the magic/essence of the original….I mean it just has to right? Despite streamlining whatever the powers that be gotta know the bar scene is what makes this place the place? Not walking up and grabbing food as quickly as possible?
