What will happen to the All Hallows Eve Boutique? Can it be absorbed by Potter or will they relocate it? It’s been nice having spooky season representation at IOA.

Doubt it would end up in Potter-- they're too protective of the IP.

Maybe it's time to build out the Lost Explorers Club as a year round Halloween store. It could connect to the Christmas store and offer a year round HHN/Halloween experience/store and be plussed with great stuff like the tribute stores.

Different ride than Japan's, throw in a flat and a new indoor show taking over Sindbad space, and voila? They can stall Mythos closing for as long as possible, and the left side of TLC could even theoretically stay as is in a sort-of Skull Island situation? Would explain the 'much' of TLC comment.

so the Pokemon ride isn't expected to use the Spiderman ride system?

I believe @Tomfoolery confirmed that, before he disappeared. It will not be a transplant from USJ

Pokémon is probably the closest IP
Universal could have to try and entice people to travel world wide to their parks to enjoy different experiences. There’s endless possibilities where say, Potter, is so story focused it limits them only slightly. I wonder if Pokémon representation will be different at each park.

Yeah, and I think an initial rumor was the USJ ride utilizes the track layout of their Spiderman, but will have different vehicles for the attraction.

If Pokémon doesn't get every last inch of LC, I will only assume Universal has brain damage and is actively allergic to money.

This IP is huge. Bigger than Mario. Bigger than Potter. This is an IP that has controlled several generations since it's release and only continues to grow to this day. This IP's merch sales will make HP's looks like child's play. The wait times this IP will have will make opening Hogsmede look like a short self-checkout line at Walmart.

Pokémon is bigger than Universal itself as a brand. When people see that "the other theme park" has God damn Pikachu there, taunting them like a siren to give them their money, they will flock like birds.

Pokémon needs every inch of LC to have enough space for the people it will attract, hell, it might even need to eat some of Seuss, hell, maybe Hogsmede (joking about this part, legally).

I could see it being moved to the former holiday shop in USF. Would make sense to have the Halloween store be in HHN's home park.

Pretty sure Finnegan's expansion is going to take that space over. (Either for back of house kitchen - which it needs to support food booths during events-- or more seating space.)

Lets just say people should keep in mind this is a period of flux for the resort. Kinda a turn over the chess board moment, so pieces have moved.

Agreed, I think it’s being downplayed how big this is. IoA is literally about to change the game again.IMG_6805.jpeg

Maybe a bad take, but I don’t think Pokemon has the power to flip the industry on its head a la Potter. I think it’s still a fantastic get, but I don’t see a huge rank of visitors coming that weren’t already being brought in by Mario.

That tells me that Pokemon makes a lot of money, but does not tell me it’s more popular than Mario. I’d certainly believe that a Pokemon Land makes more than SNW too, but likely because of the sheer amount of merchandise opportunities.

Because of toys and cards, though. It’s a merch company first (like Hello Kitty!) and a game company second. But if Uni can incorporate the trading card game into the parks, I’ll eat my words.

Pokémon is a significantly more popular franchise than Mario, largely because it has been successful multi-media franchise, and is far more accessible. Mario has only recently been expanding into other forms of media like film and theme parks, but Pokémon has had countless films, and an ongoing anime series for decades now. Games are just one facet of how people can interact with the franchise, as I know some people who are primarily focused on the anime or the Trading Card Game or as a lifestyle brand without engaging with all or any of the other mediums. Even to this day, I can't think of any IP that has caused as big of a phenomenon as the Pokémon Go craze. Pokémon is an absolute juggernaut compared to everything else.
