Is it me, or is this one of the slowest spec seasons in some time? It's like we really don't have much at all, so the conversation has just.. stopped. It would be nice if they would just tease something. For being an anniversary year, you'd think they would want to start the hype early. Or maybe I'm just annoyed. hahah

Multitude of things:

1. Universal has been better at locking up.
2. People are talking less because it leads to trouble.
3. It's still March 3.

But I agree with Joe. There was such a fervor to get all the info so early that by the time it came out, everyone was already burned out by June, right when announcement season usually starts. It ended up getting quiet when it should have been ramping up. I'd rather Spec be slow, and talk about the actual event be rampant. IMO

I get your point. I realize I'm impatient. Fuel gets added to my fire though when I get memories that pop on my FB about how I had posted early announcements in such great excitement, and I've had two such memories come up for me in the last few weeks. So, naturally, I think, we have NOTHING? Plus, I like to read here, but there is nothing to read when we have zero to go on.

Well, the good news is they usually drop something in March, so hopefully they'll get the ball rolling soon!

Much slower than previous years (last year the first post on March 3 was on page 77, year before page 72), but considering how much people burned out & fought by the end of it I think this is a good thing.

And it's funny, because oddly enough, early on in this thread I remember conversations about there being too many pages compared to the actual event threads lol

We're a complicated breed... We're never happy with tons to discuss, never happy when its slow, even less happy going outside in the disgusting heat & touching grass

Well, in other news.. since this is so slow.. I got a puppy over the weekend. We lost our sweet girl, Sunshine on July 28, and it's taken this long to get over a broken heart. Meet Seamus - soon to be King of the World.

I intend to get him some Halloween pajamas. Think Uni would do doggie HHN onesies? LOL

Just get the pup an XS shirt. Or get a larger size & have it customized onto an existing solid color doggie attire

Personally, he needs formal attire for opening weekend. Bowtie with Lil Boo

I think what we’ve actually seen is fewer random people talking about what’s coming. The last couple of years it felt like there was a new post with “inside info” every week. That’s not the case this year. There are, largely I think, fewer people posting rumors. And those who know rumors are being quieter.

And yes, leaks are fewer this year. The Jacob from Carey incident last year had a lot of ramifications.

Ultimately though… the information is basically out there. There’s only a couple of big questions about what’s coming, and even those are more “either/or” rather than “We don’t know.” Everything else is largely detail-based.

Wow I completely forgot about that. Explains why everything has seemed to be even more locked down this year!

I hope that they do have some HHN pajamas for dogs. Because I bought Grinch ones for my dog in December at Universal Studios.

Yeah, the Jacob from Carey incident was absolutely the kind of incident which'll put a serious clamp on rumors. There are things you just don't share to folks, and what is essentially a year's Bible is right at the top of the list.

Now for me, I'm fine with the less abundance of random folks tossing out rumors, makes the nuggets of rumors that do come out more exciting and I'm plenty good with the spec map put out now and then by HNN and the Grinch Map by @Viator .

I'm also in the boat that would prefer things to ramp up around announcement season, for knowing everything too early and therefore discussing it too early leads to a quick burnout. Yes, it can mean not much is going on at the moment, but that's ok! There's nothing wrong with that, things will pick up when they pick up.

Yeah, it's March. I don't need any Horror Nights news right now. Save it for when the only thing on TV is baseball [I like baseball but ... come on. All-Star week in baseball is, perhaps, the most boring-ass time of year.]

Forgot to post it but I do have new maps that dropped yesterday on Dr. Seuss's Birthday--but yeah no, that's perfectly understandable. I get why people are more burned out, and I kind of really hope once the Anniversary Years wind down for both coasts; that we can rest for a bit.

Probably won't do any Spec Maps going forward, but I loved tipping my hat in to have some fun with people (and cause chaos where I can).

I’m new here so apologies if it’s not allowed to be said, but was there a major incident last year? I wasn’t really checking speculation last year like this year so I’m not sure what’s allowed and what’s not

tbh I'm just really excited to see how they market what is essentially going to be three anniversaries in one go (Orlando and Hollywood respectively, and as @Legacy brought up elsewhere; the 25th Anniversary of Jack The Clown).

Except... THAT anniversary was last year. Jack debuted during HHN 2000, not 2001...

Playing by the logic and rule that Orlando skipped 2020~ HHN30 was marketed and billed as the 20th Anniversary for Orlando, and yet it was a year delay due to COVID.
