One quick thing here -- Havoc didn't really involve scare actors wielding guns much, if at all. The conceit was the super soldiers were so powerful that they could rip through fully armed soldiers in a locked down military base. I do agree Havoc presents other practical challenges regarding the shaved heads, though, so that could absolutely be a motivating factor in evolving the concept (if that's what's happening here, and I'm not sure it is)

The original Havoc featured one gun scare. That’s it.

Genuinely thought I was misremembering but the second half to Havoc: Derailed is all guns.

I don't think this rumored house has anything to with Havok. Every year, it's pretty common for people to link symbols on the spec map to previous houses, even though most originals we get aren't sequels. It's not uncommon for some to hold onto the early ideas from spec, even if new rumors go against them.

What you're describing here is probably far enough removed from Havoc that it should probably be its own thing. While Havoc is remembered fondly by some, I don't necessarily think it's iconic enough that most would recognize it if it came back, especially in such a different form.

I completely agree with everything said here. I actually thought the Havoc angle would be to differentiate from essentially being an exact copy of what Knotts Scary Farm had.

Unfortunately for me while rewatching Havoc: Derailed I also took a look at "The Zoo." As it turns out a 'Havoc Version' of The Zoo is literally just The Zoo - all the way down to it involving super soldiers. Whoops

There are fewer guns than there used to be, and the way guns are used has changed. Twenty (shoot, fifteen) years ago, pointing guns *at* guests was fairly normal. Now, they try to carefully choreograph any gun use to not directly cross the guests path. Guns point either parallel to guest movement or are aimed high enough above guests’ head it’s apparent guests are not the target.

Really. Pay attention to it.

Absolutely, case in point. 2019's Yeti had a scare with a shotgun blast hitting you smack in the chest. And in 2018's Halloween 4, there were multiple scares with Dr. Loomis popping out with a gun to fire at Michael with you in the crossfire.

Flash forward to Halloween in 2022, where near the end of the house, Dr. Loomis is firing at Michael with you in the crossfire...only this time Dr. Loomis is not a scareactor, but a shadow cast on the wall with just sound effects and a scareactor Michael reacting to it. The same year the ending for Bugs had your army fella ordering an attack on the bugs and you heard gunfire and felt the bugs getting shot...but you saw nobody wielding any guns.

If that house is supposed to be Havoc, why did they change the symbol when the Paw Print symbol did its job of connecting it to Havoc? Paw Print > Dog > Havoc: Dogs of War. It's probably the easiest way to point to Havoc outside of putting up the Crest/Emblem of Shadow Creek.

Yes, the symbols will change over the years, mostly when insiders find out what a house's theme truly is and not what they initially thought from the info they had. But I think we have a unique case here, I feel they changed the symbol because the Paw Print was leading folks down the wrong path. That's why the new symbol is a lot more specific and has nothing to connect it to Havoc, because it simply isn't.

Even if this was a new version of Havoc, the Paw Print would still be the choice of symbol as it's easy to connect. It's just like the easiest way to clue folks in on a house with H.R. Bloodengutz is a symbol of blood and guts.

I was always in the camp that the paw print couldn't be a "Cat Lady of Crooked Lane" house because
1. Universal already approved the originals for HHN 35 as of April 2025
2. Universal would have NO way of knowing how popular Cat Lady's scare zone would turn out before HHN 34 rolled out and ultimately won Zone of the Year

With that said, I firmly can anticipate Cat Lady getting the "zone to house" treatment like Major Sweet's (original) and IP zones like"Trick or Treat", Killer Klowns, ect. at a later time (HHN 36, or later).

As for what the symbol represents now, I'm still not buying the Zoo theory. If it was a zoo themed house, why is the symbol showing something more tribal: (a person being skewered over a fire/getting roasted for a feast) with the other person wearing an animal skin + mask. I'm getting Amazon Cannibals from Planet Hell vibes, a Slaughter Sinema 1 room-to-house treatment like Swamp Yeti inspired Yeti: Terror of the Yukon and Hatchet & Chains from Slaughter Sinema 2 became a room-to-house as well. I could be 100% wrong and I'm sure someone in this forum is laughing at me. But that's the fun of spec season

I just had a theory for what the “Paw Print” icon might be. What if it’s an original about animals going against humans (ala “Animal Farm”). Maybe it would focus on animals in a farm getting revenge on humans for eating and killing them? I am not saying the house is gonna be themed to Animal Farm, but I think it will be “Animal Farm” inspired.
