Or at the very least are going to throw together a quick overlay. Notice now in the press release they didn't say the closure of Supercharged will make way for a new experience. Usually when a substantial replacement is lined up they say that.

Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking of when I wrote my comment As the foremost critic of Supercharged since it's tragic opening, I can't let it die without the appropriate eulogies. I'm sure I'll come up with a few more before that happy day arrives.

Could we call Mickey and Minnie's similar to a black box concept? There's a few animatronics but a vast majority of it is screens on flat surfaces that could be very easily swapped out. Just a thought.

I think the concept morphed into MMRR, but the idea would be similar.

I believe it's telling that both the Great Movie ride and Universe of Energy closed on the same date. Both had similar ride systems that may have been difficult to do upkeep on? I don't know, it's just interesting

Late summer/fall 2017 was a bloodbath for attractions...GMR, UoE, Dragons, Terminator (also B&T I guess)...

Probably most of them gave glowing positive reviews of Supercharged when it opened. There were lots of them, and then they ate their words in later times once they saw the largely negative public reaction to that sorry attraction..... Bunch of click pursuing brown noses.

I’m returning real quick just to give some additional thoughts to the mix. I’ve been on twice this morning and I’m going to be honest, this is abysmal. This is actively worse than Kong in almost every single way (it’s even about two min shorter — I timed it at 5:30 on my second ride). I had extremely low expectations going in after seeing the Hollywood version on YouTube waaaaay back when it opened, but this was still worse than I expected. No one in my party was happy with the experience at all and feel extremely bad for the TM’s that are going to hear the nonstop complaints.

Proud to be an explicit hater from Day One of TM Previews haha.

Like many people, I've been thinking a lot about The Odyssey lately. And it occurred to me that we just never realized that Supercharged is really a clever retelling of this epic tale. It's out of order, but I'll attribute that to the challenges of retelling it in a completely different medium. Consider the following:

• We are Odysseus, embarking on an epic journey (albeit with a mannequin driving the bus).
• We encounter the party scene, or should I say the Sirens and their beautiful song.
• Then, suddenly, we are confronted with the swine within ourselves as we are quickly forced to decide if we should laugh along with The Rock's awkward dick joke.
• Soon after, we have a close encounter with a giant bald cyclops as it gets a little too close to us while hanging from a regular-sized helicopter. (Sure, it's a bi-clops here, but they obviously had a very low budget to work with).
• Then we find ourselves in the finale, amidst a fight with Penelope's suitors. We even see Antinous try to squirm away as he is standing up straight on the bed of a pick-up truck going full speed.
• We finally reach our destination! The place we longed to be since this journey began: off of the damn ride.
• On the way out, we realize that we did this to ourselves. We violated our own Zeus' Law by going on this ride in the first place.

Just read from Hollywood’s supercharged thread that the replacement for the ride on the Tour will be Twisters. I take it that will be the same here?

Seeing a bit of speculation on other places, but maybe that could explain why Supercharged is closing earlier than intended?

With Hollywood already beginning work, maybe this could’ve been given the green light in the Spring/early summer, and it is a matter that would be for both coasts (and as a result, would need to make sure Orlando prioritized on closing this earlier than intended so both can make a Spring/Summer 2027 window).

Could make sense if this is a stopgap.

I think 2028 is probably more realistic. I actually hope they don’t rush this to open next year as that would mean it’s not going to be great.

Twisters ride would be awesome. Pay homage to the original ride lineup plus anything is better than what's there now.

Anyway, I thought TWISTERS was fun (and I love TWISTER), but I would be massively disappointed in any (non-BTTF) simple overlay of this space.

So I hope, were it to happen in USH, that it doesn't inherently mean it's happening at USF.

Twisters? That doesn't move the needle for me tbh. Supercharged isn't a good ride, and I'm glad to see it go, but a Twisters ride would get the same reaction out of me when Supercharged was announced.

I mean, a Twisters replacement in Hollywood would be on the tram tour, so unless they go practical with it, that sounds like it could be the same idea with a different skin

And if that’s true, let’s just do something else

Also, I feel like after the F&F debacle (which even they admitted to) they might be hesitant to do a one for one replacement
