I still can’t believe plans have shifted to IOA getting Pokemon, Epic getting Zelda and USF getting bupkis from Nintendo. If any park needed the attendance boost it was USF. I really wonder if this is HHN related, mainly Nintendo putting their foot down on not having their IP in the park with that event. I’m with the group that says you need to put some big flashy new section here, most likely where Simpsons and the Spring tents are now.

HHN is in Hollywood and Japan. Nintendo isn’t stopping anything because of HHN.

It’s more likely Simpsons got a stay of execution and/or Universal wants a more blank canvas for the Nintendo IPs.

I think if there's one thing that makes me uneasy about USF's future, it is whatever mindset lead to this decision. Not only does Zelda just thematically make way more sense in IoA than Pokemon, Pokemon would be the huge boost that USF needs right about now (and frankly would've fit in well!)

Exactly - especially to balance out kid friendliness.

IOA - Toon Lagoon, Seuss Landing
US - Minions, Dreamworks Land

IOA has kiddie rides in their lands. US has I guess ET in DWL, and Minion Mayhem. Pokemon would have been a welcome addition.

I think there's a serious lack of imagination on what they can do here. There are two preshow rooms, a large load area, a transition tunnel space, a full set show scene, first act pre-tunnel room, and then the 360 tunnel. I could see several solutions to this from Twisters to Jaws and more.

I don’t disagree with the premise of your post; that with the right property and treatment this ride system can be an attraction every bit as good or better than Kong. The problem is that it requires a pretty significant gut and upgrade to everything surrounding the ride path, and likely what sits on top of the vehicle frame/chassis in order to get there. I think we all know what the likelihood of that happening is, especially if this is intended as a fairly quick turnaround thematic overlay (possibly from the Studio budget if this is in conjunction with the tram tour).

Personally, I think the ride system and show building/ride path as built are a massively limiting factor and base problems of the attraction, and that there’s almost 0 chance it can be a compelling or even mildly serviceable attraction no matter what they try to do with it. The rumors of BTTF only excited me about the IP, not the attraction itself. Twisters as the IP puts this back in the same bucket as Supercharged for me; a terrible base attraction with a meh IP where the best part of the experience will probably once again be something they didn’t plan on, intend, and which makes it look even worse. Let’s be honest, a preshow that has actors blatantly saying the ride sucks and making a mockery of the experience getting the biggest laughs is not a good look, and it started going in that direction not long after it opened. It sucks that we’re stuck with something that isn’t great but they want to get their money’s worth out of before a wholesale replacement, and I hope that as soon as they reach that point and not a day later the show building gets leveled again.

My understanding was that the BTTF simulator building is at the near end of its life, both the ride mechanisms and the building itself. It seems like Springfield is in a nearly identical situation to Lost Continent, mainly the most expensive building needs to be torn down, the other assets are cheap so don’t need to be saved and it has room behind it to add depth.

The company has just built epic which includes several incredible, world class rides so I don’t understand that.

Right, I don't agree with this. I think they built one world class ride, maybe two if you believe that applies to Stardust Racers (it was closed during my visit).

Universal built some really good/great coasters in the past 12 years. But unfortunately, only a few good/great non coaster 'rides'. *Monsters/Great,, *Ministry/average to good, *Mario Kart Average to good, Kong: good .....and only one of the non coasters were in a North Campus park.....and that's a major reason there's a feeling of stagnation, especially among those that aren't super coaster fans.

I would give them 3 world class rides.
Monsters, Ministry (flawed but I mean... come on it's still insane?), and Hiccup's Wing Gliders. Super Nintendo World is world class, but the rides are... meh.

And, while Stardust looks insane, it's still just a big coaster like something you'd see in Six Flags, so... it can't get a world class out of me.

All the lands are world class. But the ride line up is ... lacking overall.

Ministry is a bad ride, I will die on that hill. I also don’t think Super Nintendo World is a good themed land — and Mario Kart is also a very so-so ride. Hiccup’s is a tier below “world class,” but still very good.

Monsters is the only ride that even approaches the Rise of the Resistance level that I’m talking about.
