Flashbacks to the “No one cares about F&F, so this coaster isn’t going to be popular or sell merch” conversation.

If Twisters really is coming, then Universal has done enough work behind the scenes to see value in it as an IP worth having at the park. I’m not really looking forward to another year or two of every conversation being dominated, again, by “I personally don’t understand why this is happening, and everyone else, including Universal, is wrong for X, Y, and Z,” especially when Hollywood Drift’s extremely positive reception just rendered all those past, endless round-and-rounds moot.

Not to mention, nothing has even been announced yet…

All I ask is for some practical effects in the 360 tunnel and be extremely windy. If they pull it off, it would be a pretty fun overlay. They had all this time to plan it so they better do it right.

If I don’t have debris tearing at my skin and clothes and dust forcing its way down my throat and nostrils, then I’ll be very disappointed!

I mean we just saw they are one of the parks with less people coming

I don't know more then Universal but doesn't mean they can't make mistake either

Is Twisters going to bump you up enough in guests or merch vs a Bigger IP? I just doubt it

To me if true, it just sounds like this is the cheapest way to skin this ride and the tram.

Its an unpopular on here but I think most things coming to the parks should get the reactions of FNAF, One Piece, Super Nintendo World and Harry Potter, it should be drawing large number of guests and selling merch, the more people the park has the more they invest in it and merch sells help make it easier to justify spending more on bigger attractions.

It helps that they fully own Twisters, is conceptually “easy” for a simulator, and had an absolutely (relatively) insane domestic run at the box office.

If they were building a Twisters land that took up valuable space, I’d be scratching my head, sure. But this is an addition to the Studio Tour replacing a widely disliked experience, and that’s all it fundamentally needs to be: Better and more fun than its predecessor. If everything on the Tour needed to exist to “sell merch,” then most of it would be gone, because I don’t see anyone buying Earthquake and War of the Worlds merch, and I’m sure Universal is well aware and has the expectation that an addition to the Studio Tour is inherently not going to move the needle in terms of attendance as much as a brand new ride/land will.

Universal’s not in some sort of financial peril. An addition to the Studio Tour is not going to magically cripple the park and nothing new will ever come again because millions of people didn’t flock to buy Twisters shirts. In a few years, another major land or ride will open elsewhere in the park, as always.

I also don’t have a financial stake in the park, so I just… don’t care what “sells merch” or what doesn’t, because I trust Universal enough to make the decisions they believe they need to make for the park’s future. Not that long ago, you were insistent that Universal building Hollywood Drift was “the wrong decision,” and yet here we are, which circles me back around to the original point I was making: That it’s not going to be fun for anyone to be able to talk about this if every conversation is just going to constantly be derailed by the same “This should be what I want it to be” commentary over and over and over again.

Also, let's not forgot how we kept hearing o0ver and over again that the finale of the Studio Tour should be a "Great Movie Ride" segment that quickly goes through the "best of" all of Universal's greatest films.

Brother, you just described the Studio Tour itself. That's literally what the whole ride is.

I absolutely loathed Twisters, made me irrationally angry ahaha. But it’s a phenomenal slot for the Studio Tour. Very excited to see how they go about it.

My only issue with that damn movie was how the foreshadowing was clearly setting up for Jo to be the girl's mom, (they even shot it like a grand reveal) only for the lady from 'Liar Liar' to walk out LOL
