A lot of people cared about the general design and direction this land might take so yes trees do get people excited.

I remember when the Epcot flags got a bigger reaction than the Hagrid opening date. I'd say people remember Hagrid more now.

@OrlLover's point is a good one. The trees imply a lot about what the visual tone of the land is going to be, and given that rumors of things as wacky and non-spooky as an EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE coaster have been out there, the trees confirm the stylistic space Disney is at least aiming for.

An Emperor’s new groove family coaster elicits no response from me. My expectations are set to zero. I was really hoping this would be the more “adult” area of the park , but I guess that’s not meant to be. I understand magic kingdom caters more to young families , so it makes sense … just not something I’m excited about.
