Pretty much what Jake said, and I feel the Dragon doesn't have a chance of coming back until the show gets a major refurb, which it honestly does need at this point to fix a lot of technical components.

Yeah I was thinking the bone they throw Disneyland at D23 was going to be a new (probably flame-less) dragon, but it looks like it’s going to be a Matterhorn redo instead.

You know, when you think about it, it makes sense this would align with the Space Mountain redo at the MK. Since they both have similar seating configurations, why not do both. Maybe they’ll throw in Frozen Ever After as a bonus.

When you think about it, a new Matterhorn could very well be the start and/or part of the much-needed Tomorrowland redo.

I think chunks of the Matterhorn have been quite literally falling off for the past ten years, so I think it may be a practical consideration rather than a thematic one.

That’s not to say Disney won’t capitalize on it, but I think they were backed into a corner on this one. Building standards have come a long way since 1959.

I figured this day would come but I guess they gotta do it sooner than later. It’s literally falling apart.

But as someone else has said, this is one of the piece of the complicated puzzle to get moving on the TL redo.

If this alleged Matterhorn redo is going to be as extensive as I imagine, I wonder if the subs and/or Autopia will survive? They’re gonna have to make the Matterhorn slightly larger to accommodate that extra space it’s gonna need. They should get rid of it to put a small Arendelle in there.
