I would actually agree about the plaza needing an upgrade. USF could use the entry upgrade like California Adventure saw. The entrance has become so frumpy and just so old looking. Especially with so many new Rides opening up in the next couple of years, it'd be nice to see a redesigned entrance.

I agree..even though I would say they should leave the arch/globe the rest of the entrance needs to be redone...perhaps an entrance like Disney Studios Paris where you walk under a bridge of sorts that acts to 'reveal' the park to you

Go to 0:38 - 1:00 to see what I mean

I really hate that you can see the NY facade from the entrance

I don't remember who suggested this; but it would be interesting to see Kong replace Twister or Shrek but instead of it taking place at Skull Island like the version in Hollywood this one would be set in New York when King Kong is brought back with the film crew and is chained up in the theater. The theater facade would obviously fit and it would be an interesting way to bring Kong back to the studios.

I had an idea like that a LONG time ago. If you remember that you have a great memory. I had also posted something similar to that way back in the day when IOACENTRAL still had some breathing. It makes sense with the theming and would be a way to get Kong back so I doubt I am the only one who ever thought of it and posted ideas for it.

In theory this sounds fantastic; twister is honestly the least entertaining attraction in the new york streets. Kong would make so much more sense, and could even simply be a walk-through attraction where he is chained in the theater, and as you enter the theater he starts thrashing about, maybe even picking up a performer and then setting her down. He could break the chains, stand up, and walk towards the mezzanine you'd be standing on like he was going to smash it and then all of the lights would go out temporarily. You'd hear him roar, and then when the lights came back up, he would be reset in chains and you would exit the building.

Just saying, I'd be freaking horrified if I didn't know what to expect before walking into that. Call me, Universal.

I'd expect Twister to go before Shrek. When's the last time you've heard someone talk about that movie?

I go on Twister about 120% more times than I do on Shrek. Plus, Bill Paxton is awesome.

Surprisingly, I like it as well. It's a nice little attraction.

I was thinking the same thing. Can be named "The Universal Express". A train ride taking you through the time of Universal Orlando resort or through many movies and scenes of Universal pictures. Having 3 or 4 floors with about 8 movies in which guest can get a short "Experience" of the movie that that group votes on. Something interactive such as characters, sound effects, lights, vehicle motion, etc. Then the train would do this on each floor in the section it goes through. Then IDK if this is possible but the train could interact on the outside as well. Possible going around the park and the lagoon to show progress and future developments so people get the full experience of Universal.

They knock down the Shrek building along with Lucy and rebuild that into a building similar to transformers but maybe even 1 or two stories taller.
Use that space and if they decide to do away with Mels, that space as well to do as needed. The queue could be pictures of rides, families, past experiences, etc.

Just a thought lol

You guys have some great ideas. I decided to finally join the forum.

Considering the current lagoon show is going next year, I'd love a dark ride through some of the Universal classics.

It's a fact. The show is celebrating 100 years of Universal

That's a bad assumption to make, considering how popular the show is and that you can still celebrate a hundred years of movies if it's 101 years.

A new show is probably in the works regardless.

I would imagine the show will virtually be the same. Maybe some minor changes here and there, but for the most part, I think we'll be seeing the same show next year.

I'm sure they'll get ride of a show they invested large sums of money into. </sarcasm>

Maybe. Just some narration changes. But TBH the show got old for me after two viewings.

I could see some minor tweaking but the investment made for Cinnespec is long term..A new show will certainly happen eventually, but I see no reason not to celebrate 100 years of Universal for the next few years..Disney constantly celebrates itself and no one says anything

If a new show were to come, they can still use the fountains and screens.
