I suppose you have a point there. I'm just kind of speculating around here.

I think what could come to Kidzone is a really an exciting mystery. I don't think it will be How to Train your Dragon, as Universal seems to be done with Dreamworks, and I don't think TMNT will be involved either, as Universal (sadly) seems to be done with Nickelodeon as well (outside of SpongeBob and Dora).

So that leaves a lot to consider. Hopefully the Smurfs will stay far, far, far away from this.

I'm fine with Smurfs, as long as it doesn't replace ET.

MLP does not have a good place in the park..they will go for something more gender neutral instead IMHO..yes I know Bronies exist, but yea...won't happen.

80% of Fantasyland is girl-centric and that place is always packed (Disney Princesses)

If anything Universal has an overload of boy stuff (Transformers, Marvel, Dino's, mythology, mummies)

I don't see how a MLP ride is unreasonable - it would be Comcast's answer to Cinderella and all of them :)

Dora would be a good fit because the park needs something for the preschool set.

But I wouldn't mind Smurf Village replacing Fievel along with a small flat ride to go with it. Personally, I think the area could do with a forest theme - anything overarching (ET, Smurfs, HTTYD, Scooby, Woody Woodpecker, MLP, etc) to link everything together.

I'm 90% sure that Six Flags has the rights to Scooby Doo through their licensing agreement with WB.

My Little Pony is a pretty huge franchise, but it's nowhere near as huge as the Disney Princesses franchise.

Universal has had the licensing for Scooby-Doo for a long time. They still have Scooby and Shaggy roaming around the park as well as various merchandise available.

Universal has them for Florida. Shaggy and Scooby characters appear around the park at times and they were featured shortly in the old Hanna-Barbara ride.

My little freaking pony......

Are we being serious for this being a LEGITIMATE IP for Universal Studios Orlando?

Or are some of y'all blowing smoke out your buttes? lol

Yeah. I am serious. Deal with it.

It's a franchise that has now become more powerful and likeable than ever. It would work great with the park.

And regardless of what has been said in this thread, it has a pretty decent shot at happening. I say that because, meaning no offense to anyone, I know far more about the franchise and its fandom than anyone else here. It's going to big places in the coming years.

Plus, the whole "its appeal is too narrow for the park" argument is BS. If a girls franchise like Dora the Explorer can be in the park without it bothering anyone, so can My Little Pony.

I'm telling you all...if My Little Pony doesn't gain some kind of presence at Universal Studios by 2030, I will post a video of myself eating my own underwear.

That's how serious I am.

Really..

Just because there's a kids TV show out there that doesn't suck does not mean Universal should automatically consider it for a kids ride. Even so, of all the shows to pick to speculate about.....

From what I observed, the reason why people began speculating about it is because it's one of Hasbro's most popular and well known franchises, and Universal and Hasbro currently have a strong relationship. It's not that hard to believe why.

But anyway, I'm probably going to drop out of this discussion.

Now we're talking!

Trackless dark ride through bikini bottom is an ideal replacement for ET in my mind. Like you have no idea the attraction possibilities running through my mind for this thing.

This is all that needs to be said: MLP doesn't appeal to a large enough audience. If anything, it appeals more to adults than kids, and even then it's a niche IP.

Pretty much what i'm saying is it's never going to happen.

A SpongeBob trackless ride would be pretty interesting, although a part of me wishes they would just theme a trackless ride around Nickelodeon altogether.

It would be like Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast, but way better and in dark ride form.

Anything Nickelodeon IP worth putting together for a ride like that is 10 years old AT LEAST. Most of the franchises i'd want in the ride (and I think most would) are long gone from Nickelodeon, so it's really not worth it on either end. Spongebob is the only show that has stood the test of time (although it has gotten progressively worse). It would be best to build a ride just off that, but you then have to ask yourself, how much longer is Spongebob going to be around? Nickelodeon has seen much better days. When they cancelled all the game shows, slime time live, and a lot of the cartoons that many of us grew up with (all of which were actually GOOD), the network really just hit the fan.

I'm still holding out hope for an Adventure Time themed Kidzone. The Land of Ooo would honestly make a fantastic area.

Doubt that'll ever happen though.

True. I'm just doing some wishful thinking. Last Airbender, Danny Phantom, Jimmy Neutron, Fairly OddParents, Invader ZIM and whatnot are the only 2000's Nick properties that would be interesting enough to feature in a ride, (even though they totally screwed up Neutron's potential), and yet except for FOP, all those shows are in the past themselves.

I've said it before and I'd like to mention it again, since it's been brought up: Dora. It's been going strong for many years and continues to be popular and prevalent today. Plus, they're already featuring the character, so you know there's a solid possibility of working with the IP and a strong possibility of it getting some real estate in KidZone.
