Not sure if this has been posted so apologies if it has but here in the UK Sky TV has the following description for one of the shows on TV airing on Sunday 22nd at 5pm:

LIVE FROM THE RED CARPET
Harry Potter/Diagon Alley: Join E! as we welcome the stars on the red carpet for the opening of Universal Orlando Resort's Wizarding World or Harry Potter - Diagon Alley.

It's on E! which I assume you guys in the States get also!

We do get E!, however our red carpet event airs on the 20th. How odd....

So, this just showed up on Twitter. Apparently the complimentary express passes Uni gives out for various reasons now includes HP and the Escape from Gringotts, but not Hogwarts Express. Interesting that this would be available now at the beginning of media/VIP week. As someone questioned on another site, why would they need these this week if there was not a "regular" line to bypass?

Did these type of express passes previously include Forbidden Journey, or is this a new development?

FJ was always included.

Are comps privately escorted onto the ride, for FJ, up the staircase? I cannot figure out how they would get through otherwise.

No, they send you up the Express queue, which is now the Castle Tour, and take the slip of paper at the end.

^ Wild that it has been 4 years and they can only do trickles of people in the express queue. I still wish they would pack and delay the show queues, if for no other reason than guest comfort. It mortifies me that 95% of guests just breeze through all of the beautiful design and shows.

These maps apparently come out of the interactive wand boxes and show the spell-casting places. One for Diagon and one for Hogsmeade. They look really cool but again I'm really worried about how Universal is going to manage the crowd control for this.

On my DVR it reads similarly, only replacing the word 'opening' with 'VIP preview'. Does anyone else see this change from their provider? Maybe Universal demanded a change after E! and TV Guide jumped the gun.

Interesting.. I just checked my info from DirecTV and they definitely changed the wording from opening to VIP Preview.

I don't believe that anyone jumped the gun... I think WB is having concerns about whether or not the gun is up to snuff and ready to fire.

It's really interesting to see how it's playing out this time... Unfortunately I have a feeling I will just miss opening going this Friday and Saturday, but I'm getting an annual pass so I feel much better about going now - I'll be able to come sometime after it opens! I don't have a great camera right now but I'll definitely get some pictures of whatever is going on Friday and Saturday...
