Yeh, actualy, the once in the know, will tell you the whole Kong thing is just not true.
The attraction they are actualy building is for the rebooten of Back to the Future part -3, -2 and -1. If a succes part 4, 5 and 7 will be shot (part 6 will be a crossover for the Walking Dead to the Future).
The whole thing will be a two park thing where Marties dad steals the car from doc and goes to skull island in the past to safe future his wife from an ape that stole the Delorian while he was there saving his wife to capture his wife in the future.
There you have it, don't believe everything you read online (this info was from source that was kind of sober when he gave me this information).

Thought I'd share a funny story -
When I'm at the parks I like to talk to my family about all the rumors being passed around. They like knowing what's going on around the parks. We were in line for a pin cart at Diagon Alley and I started talking about the construction for Kong, and I had some Team Member who was so full of herself go "Nope, they're wrong, don't believe everything you read on the internet" and it was the funniest damn thing to me because I know they're not told anything but she was like, arrogant about it (an air of superiority?)... Anyway I didn't argue obviously but I'd love to see her face when they announce this thing...

Maybe she's crossing her fingers for it being an E-ticket break room?

It seemed as if they had added new facade supports to the right of the show building entrance as well as new columns and steel added behind Thunder Falls.

They are shooting for May... but I didn't want him to arrive for a Diagon debacle. Right? July might be even safer.

Screamscape is reporting that kuka arms are going to be used on the Kong animatronic who will use them to kidnap your tour guide and run off with her. Sounds a little far fetched to me but would be absolutely awesome. Any one else hearing anything like this?

If this is true, then I take my hat off to Universal for such ingenuity. As many of you know, if any portion of a ride is outside, then the ride must close if lightning is within 5 miles of the park... causing them to dump the queue after 20 minutes (or so) of non-operation, and causing pissed off people.

The fact that they built-in an option to allow them to continue operating in inclement weather is genius. Has this ever been done before on another attraction?

If you have seen the plans I would think you would find it less feasible... unless perhap it backs out of the station into a track switch. Perhaps that is what that other hole in the center is? Still, it doesn't seem worth the price-tag that it would incur. JPRA doesn't have such a solution.

Wouldn't the ride time be cut in half at that point as well?
