The first official trailer has been unveiled for Marvels upcoming take, on Stephen Strange.

The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Mads Mikklesen, Rachael McAdams, Chiwetel Ejifor and Tilda Swinton; as the film drops on November fourth of this year.

This will be the second film to roster in the MCU Phase III.

Thoughts on the trailer?

Good teaser. Doctor Strange is low on my comic knowledge level but I'm looking forward to a different kind of Superhero movie.

Definitely looks like one of the more twisted movies yet in the MCU. Gives me more of a Daredevil vibe than the normal Comedic Super hero films that Marvel tends to put out.

Yes, in the 60's both Strange & Daredevil were quite different than the other titles. Kind of the dark side of Marvel. I really enjoyed Dr. Strange back then. It wasn't one of their better sellers, but it was set in a world of dark magic& mysticism that was vastly different from the rest of the Marvel Universe. Of course, there were always some cross overs, Marvel kind of perfected that technique, but the early years of Dr, Strange were like 98% mysticism oriented stories.

I'm not sure what to think about this one... for one, I'm not a huge fan of the Benedict Cumberbatch casting, I'm just not a fan of the actor personally, and secondly, the more fantastical/"magical" Marvel movies (so the Thor ones) have always been my least favorites. However, some of the visuals in this movie look very interesting, so I guess I'll wait and see if I'm interested once it's closer.

Gonna wait for the second trailer. From what I heard from Doctor Strange fans is that they wanted more magic besides the inception style dimension stuff. The movie just finished filming not to long ago so I assume that would be why they didn't show much of it at all besides the astral plane.

the score is great but it was underwhelming despite that stacked cast list.

I'm personally looking forward to it, hopefully it's in line with other Marvel movies as far as quality.

Oh, and when did Marvel roll out a new studio logo

So I got to see Doc Strange today in 3D and I'll say this.

I am going to have to see it again. While it is so-far a great addition to the MCU, there are some parts where I'm thinking that I may have to watch once again. The 3D was excellent, and the cast is perfect. I do have one thing and it's not the villain this time, it's just the runtime.

I wish it had some breathing time, to build up more of character motivations on certain characters and that the origin of Strange is..a little rushed.

I do highly recommend it in 3D though, as it was the best part of the movie (especially with how they bend the environments around the characters). And definitely stay for the post-credit scenes as they'll be big for the MCU on a whole..

I will say that movie didn't look like anything Ive ever seen before (and definitely see in 3D and on a big big screen). The fight scene in Hong Kong (and I'm not gonna spoil it) was so incredibly inventive and brilliant

Bald Tilda Swinton is reason enough for me to see it. She is so weird/awesome I adore her.

The thing I read in one review that piqued my interest wast that "the magic in the movie made the Harry Potter movies look like child's play". Is this something that anyone that has seen it would agree with? Or is it not even comparable?

Yes. The effects were next level. I got dizzy during the film though.

I would say that comparing this to HP in how it's magic is used would make no sense. It does a lot of very interesting things that Harry Potter really hasn't for visual effects (even with DH2 and the shielding of Hogwarts; there is a creative use of the CGI and the 3D meshing together).

Haven't seen this yet and am not sure what to think. The visual effects look amazing and like they're the best part of the movie, but... I'm not usually a fan of when things like magic are thrown into a world where it previously didn't exist and everything was science-based. Guess I'll find out if I see it.
