The new version supposedly will end over Epcot.

Here's a full ride video for Soarin. It looks like the same film will be in all the parks as they went with a location neutral big city firework ending instead of one for each of the parks.

Never understood why Soarin was popular. This new update is pretty neat though. Not something I'd wait 70 minutes for though.

Me neither. I rode it for my first time last year and was pretty underwhelmed.

Apparently every single ride besides Pirates had their budgets cut according to a Spirited fellow over at magic. So if they got cut with Disney not even paying the full bill over there imagine if they brought those rides over here, how barebones they would be.

Just remember guys. These rides may be really cool and at times better than the ones we have, but they have a minuscule amount of attractions compared to any other resort.

We still have it better IMO.

1 and done here. I'll check the new one out if I ever go back to WDW but I was unimpressed.

Not saying their rides aren't impressive, but most people usually suffer from "It's new and different, so that makes it better" syndrome.

I think the best example of this, from personal experience, is how freaking hyped I was to finally ride "Journey to the Center of the Earth" at TDS when I got over there. It was the thing I ran to the first morning I went to TDS, having years upon years of built up hype. "Best ride on the planet 10 years running!" Theme Park Insider reviews called it. "WHY CAN'T WE HAVE THIS!?" everyone on the message boards yelled.

I finally ride it and...it's fine. It's a good ride. But it's like maybe the 5th best ride in the park, IMO, and I'd put it somewhere between 8-10th at the resort.

I have extreme screen fatigue, and they rarely, rarely look good to me, but I'm impressed with how screens are utilized in Pirates along with the AA's. I think it pretty much proves my belief they play well off each other. Hell, the Jack Sparrow AA in our Pirates is incredible to me.

Jack looks awesome. But I am always painfully aware that I am looking at a robot on a 10 sec. loop. Especially when the boats back up in the treasure scene and you get to watch Jack do his thing 4 times. Talk about Uncanny Valley! It's like 2001 meets Kingdom Keepers with a pinch of "Stepford Wives"/Westworld" stirred in.

I think it's in the top 3 of the resort, and that's because I take it as a full experience, from the outside to the queue, to the elevator, to the actual ride...it's tremendously well themed and thrilling also.

I can't count the outside in it. The façade is clearly the best on the planet, but it doesn't factor into the ride experience like those for RSR or Kong do.

The queue itself is fine, if nothing spectacular. Not as strong as ToT or IJA in the same park, but good. The elevator was a disappointment for me. I was expecting something more similar to the hydrolators or what Gringotts ended up with. As it stands it's a neat little part of the experience, but a lesser version of the effect than I've seen elsewhere.

The actual ride, again, is fine. It's not bad. It's quite good. But the pacing is awful and it feels super short. The climax is fantastic with some great airtime, but it just doesn't all come together, IMO.

As it stands, I'd rank ToT, IJA, Sindbad, and 20K above JTTCOTE in TDS, and Hunny Hunt, Monster's Inc, Splash Mountain, and Haunted Mansion from TDL above it.

Journey to the Center of the Earth is still the best ride I've ever been on, but I guess it's all subjective.

Yeah, subjective can be so frustrating at times. You have to wait to compile reviews and see how it weighs out and even that might not align with your impressions. There are rides that I find blah when most think it is the best ever and others that I enjoy that people declare it the worst. Oh well.

Again, totally the best façade in the world. Doesn't excuse the faults of the ride.

So through analyzing the POTC screen v.s Set/Animatronic argument I have broken down the Scene Count

Set/Animatronic only: Scenes 1 (Blue Bayou),2,3,4,5
Set/Animatronic/Screen as backdrop: 7,8,9,10,12,13,14,15
SCREEN only: 6 (the first dive down), Scene 11 (initial rise in the large battle scene)

This was done by memory (yes I have watched the video that much) and I am going to back and re-watch to verify.

There were 4 total AA within the attraction

It's crazy how far in advanced some things are planned.
