I personally hope that they are more planning on reworking this for a Gringotts type attraction, as that's what I think would make the perfect F&F attraction. Give enough of a thrill aspect but also the simulated aspect that worked out extremely well for USH's iteration.

Will it? I doubt it, but its a hope I have.

Great idea. Now you just need to sell that to Universal Creative in this time frame of Kong vehicle issues. Maybe they're reading OU today. :)

Gringotts type? Like a Simulator/Coaster in one?

Considering the crazy (but sometimes logical) ideas I have most of the time; yeah, they should look around.. ;)

It's the perfect theme for such. Gringotts, I Love it but it moves so slow (Storyline). Most people know cars or associate cars with speed, which is why I think something of thrill or simulated speed is much more suitable for this theming.

They certainly have the grounds to do so. Gringotts is a little over 2 acres sooo, creative isn't being very "Creative"

After riding the Hollywood iteration, I placed F&F with low expectations. I did enjoy it, don't get me wrong; but in a way, i'd compare it as this.

When on the Studio Tour at USH, as Kong ends everyone cheers. And trust me; most of the time's I've gone through the animation there has been atleast four to nine cheers by any certain tram car. But with F&F, because of it being similar to Kong; it just gives a shrug.

That's not to say its not the better animation. Personally; I perfer the 360 aspect of F&F MUCH more than Kong, but Kong is still the better experience as it isn't something you expected. My hope with Supercharged, as I have stated in the past; is of possibly bringing practical effects not just in certain ride scenes before the 360, but when you enter the 360 scene.

That, is the only way I see this being a good attraction. Just like Kong, it mixes robotic technology but with the 3D technology one would expect.

I totally agree with F&F at USH did not really amaze me or have a good story line but for just a extra 5 mins on a tram tour I think it was decent considering the circumstances but with this they have the ability to do What they wanted to or failed to in Hollywood

I guess we will have to wait and see what they come up with. If it were me I'd go nutz with that space.

^ I think that most people are primarily interested in the size of the actual attraction area. In near-final designs, it was far smaller than your drawings.

Sooooo, it's been a while since we've seen a post on F&F. We talked briefly about this before, but I would think that UC has to be giving pause concerning using similar ride vehicles & a trackless system similar to Kong, with all of Kong's issues. Will this attraction change course? What do you all think?

I hope that the Gringotts ride system is being considered to replace this, because it'd give the most potential to Supercharged..am I expecting that? no. I am not going to be surprised if they go for a similar system like Kong, unfortunately.

That or a powered coaster though some dark ride scenes with a powered launch into a bank with some low bunny hops or curves. Like Mummy (which I am basing on videos since I haven't ridden it) but with a little more pop. Is Gringotts also a powered coaster? I know that it has at least one tilt section or something akin to a tilt.

Foundation is being poured, but that would require "over the walls". It'll go vertical soon.

Gringotts had just as many issues if not more than Kong. I wouldn't think they would go that route either. I could see more of a Mummy time ride, less complex than Gringotts.

Not exactly accurate. The complexity of the ride system wasn't the issue, but the timing and everything syncing together was. (Hey, that's a pretty neat trick to lift up the screen to launch through). Obviously it being first of its kind - and working now - would help future projects should they ever decide to revisit the system.

I guess what I meant is the amount of interactivity in that ride. The timing of the screens with the coasters and props. Where mummy is less complex in its timing, but a coaster track. Not saying they will never do another Gringotts, but why would they replace one tech that had issues that should now be easier to resolve with another tech that also had issues that should now be easier to resolve? That was more my point.

Because almost all new tech has issues at first that need to be resolved. Doesn't mean you stop using new tech.

Agreed. That was my point. Someone mentioned that with the issues with Kong maybe they would use a different tech. Someone else said Gringotts tech. But they had just as many issues with Gringotts. So why would they replace one tech they had issues with for another tech they had issues with. Why not just fix the issues with the new ride from day one that you had with the last ride. Learn from your mistakes instead of changing techs. I think I was to subtle :)
