Agreed. That was my point. Someone mentioned that with the issues with Kong maybe they would use a different tech. Someone else said Gringotts tech. But they had just as many issues with Gringotts. So why would they replace one tech they had issues with for another tech they had issues with. Why not just fix the issues with the new ride from day one that you had with the last ride. Learn from your mistakes instead of changing techs. I think I was to subtle :)

I think you bring a great point about The Mummy ride system. IMO this is by far the best system to fit F&F, it has a dark ride side and it also has speed. (Kind of what I expected from Gringotts and end up getting a SM/TF 3.0, which it was very disappointing after watching HP's Gringotts scene, but still an awesome ride) It beats me why universal has not brought us Mummy 2.0, Bigger Faster Better. Actually I just thought about a spinning Mummy ride system to do some drifting at a point or two during the ride.... IDK just dreaming here.

Mummy 2.0 better include smoother stops. At least Gringotts can stop a car without my head lurching forward then slamming back on the headrest multiple times.

I suppose that could simulate hitting the NOS for Fast and Furious.

Granted, it has only been a week. Any word on if they are considering any changes to the ride or do you think that they'll wait a little to see how Kong does? I figure that contracts have been signed and all the materials are ordered but I didn't know if it was too far in for a change in the type of attraction.

I'm personally not as fatigued with simulators as others, but I still believe they should only be used to convey a type of action that isn't easily produced through other means. I feel it works for Spider-Man and Transformers because you can't have an animatronic Spider-Man jumping around, and you can't have life-size Transformer animatronics doing what they do. I'm disappointed in how many screens I hear Kong has, I'll admit, but atleast that has something. But why do we need a simulator for Fast and the Furious? When I think of a Fast and the Furious ride, I think of something akin to Test Track at Disney. It's a missed opportunity to bring something like that to Universal, in my opinion.

Probably not...Reign of Kong meets Spiderman seems more likely with a built in motion base rather than having to get on a motion plate.

Different people on the forum & threads all the time, plus slow thread news, will usually equal repeat discussions. :) Not to count that many of us have dementia, so it's bound to happen.

Isn't it time for someone to do a flyover for a REAL update?
