Yeah, can anyone confirm that? Because if that's the case, it makes me curious about Tuesday.

Lol at the comment of Comcast robbing people blind by building screen-based attractions. So what's Disney doing when they build nothing or take 5 years for each one? Welcome, newbs! That Reign of Kong just won't let up.

It's an overreaction, to be sure, but I get the frustration. I'm not particularly thrilled that seemingly all of the (non coaster) big attractions coming to Orlando in the next 5 years are apparently going to be, to one degree or another, "simulator-y." But is Comcast "robbing people blind?" No way.

Josh Thomas said:
Whether it be Comcast or Disney, screen attractions are lame to me. With 3D films being something anybody can see at pretty much any theater, there is no real excitement for me when I go to a theme park and I'm treated to a screen on a wall projecting a video game cutscene. Heck now with home Virtual Reality being a thing that works VERY well, it makes these screen attractions even less appealing for me.

If you enjoy them, more power to ya. I just find them super dated and a way for a big corporation to cut down on costs, and then they just let marketing sell it as some kind of cutting edge super modern attraction. Again if you enjoy it, then have fun.

Having said that I'm super hopeful with Kong, and I'm assuming the marketing for the attraction is just super bad and the real ride will be filled with more physical sets, special effects and animatronics.

I get that you don't like the technique, but I think you're really selling short the level of sophistication required to pull off things like Spidey or Gringotts or Transformers. I do sort of agree that CGI animation of Kong that we've seen so far looks pretty cartoony, but none of these ride film excerpts ever look good out of the context of the ride.

As for the part I bolded, I would re-examine your expectations. I think the ride's going to be good, but still pull from the playbook Universal's been using on its biggest attractions in this decade. There are certainly going to be physical sets and AAs in the ride, but it doesn't sound like they're the focus.

My TV is pretty much identical too Kong. It's awesome. But watching a football game sucks, cycling in front of the screen every 3 mins. for 90 secs a pop makes it hard to keep up.

To any and every TM that would be on the OU forums,

I personally hope that you all have fun, ok? And to make sure of giving us great thoughts of the attraction..

And from what it seems,

Based on UOTeam I'm thinking walls will still be up for the TM preview, and probably after.

Yeah, at this point, I think that it is prudent to believe that softs will begin August 15 just to avoid disappointment. I am not saying that it is a possibility but just a good way to calm yourselves. They could happening right now for all that I know.
