I just watched the ad but had no idea they had a presence in the park already. Sounds very... Disney. From the blog article:

Summer of Heroes will launch these new, year-round experiences:

  • Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! – Don’t be surprised if you run into the Guardians of the Galaxy on their way to the Milano, with Star-Lord firing up his old-school boom box to get the party started. Gamora may prefer to stand back and observe, but everyone else is bound to get in the groove and show off their moves during this awesome rock ‘n’ roll bash!
  • Super Hero Encounters – For the first time, citizens of Earth will come face-to-face with Groot, one of the Guardians of the Galaxy! You can also step up to meet the First Avenger, Captain America, along with everyone’s favorite web slinger, your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
And for a limited time, step up to the challenge with new adventures during Summer of Heroes:

  • Avengers Training Initiative – Black Widow and Hawkeye assemble young recruits for a series of tests to see if they have what it takes to join the ranks of the Avengers.
  • Heroic Encounter: Black Widow – Black Widow will arrive on the scene several times throughout the day in an armored Avengers vehicle for her heroic encounter with park guests.
  • Grab a Piece (or Bite) of the Action – All that heroism making you hungry? Want a token as proof of your adventures when you get home? Special themed merchandise and food will be available throughout Hollywood Land.

You're joking, but I'd pay good money to see such a beautiful disaster.

I honestly really doubt they will touch Spider-Man for a ride (unless it's an Avengers ride) due to that exact reason.

Furthermore, Disney/Marvel still doesn't fully "control" the Spider-Man IP, which still lives primarily at Sony. It's much easier/more profitable to focus on their "homegrown" properties - Ironman, Hulk, Thor, Cap, Guardians - the guys they fully own and most closely define the modern MCU.

They only don't control Spider-Man rights when it comes to film. Marvel and Disney has full control over anything else, including merchandise.

Full control over everything "but" something means it isn't full control. The film franchise, to many people, defines the "definitive" Spider-Man of the day. The rest of the park's offerings place a heavy emphasis on the MCU.

I thought the model and initial renderings were simply an insult to what was there before, but the finished product doesn't look half bad from the outside. I think it will fit in with the Marvel land that is rumored to be built around it.

^Thats subjective. Looks like 1980s Epcot's interpretation of 'the future'. Not a good look.

I'd be shocked if they didn't have the future aesthetic of Marvel Land in mind when they built this. It might not look great now, but I'm thinking each new Marvel attraction will make it look better.

It could look worse.

That said, this facade is still basically a polished :poop:

Disneyland is now going fully in more on the marketing of the new attraction.

Anyone see the movie? the drone control room looks like a cheap WDW overlay. A bunch of VR sim bikes.

Reminds me of the Banshee ride.
