The track showing up only tells us what type of coaster it is and maybe what to expect thrill wise. Everything else could happen way after.

It will be interesting to see what this thread is like a year from now.

Unfortunately, track only tells you who made it. Mack/Intamin track looks pretty much the same, regardless of thrill level.

By the time the track arrives, you could have a rough idea of the layout from the poured footers. The circumference of the turns should be a good indicator of speed.

Yeah, I remember back in the 7DMT times that there were people on Micechat that had somewhat figured out the layout of the coaster itself, but not in how it will progress.

I'm just curious about the fact that this is so secret. Nothing (so far) indicates that this will be anything special. We've had leaks about things that haven't even been announced yet (with superior ride elements, may I add), but nothing has been leaked for this. Universal is confusing.

Isn't that kind of a contradiction?

I meant from the footers and stuff like that. There's no ride building that we can see. Nothing seems special.

Gotcha. It's still early days yet but upon saying that, we're about 18 months out from opening and if they're really planning something special, they're running way behind schedule.

I would imagine that the more artistic and/or robotic pieces are out for bid right now for delivery 1-3 months prior to opening. At least that’s my experience when I have known that something(s) needed to be installed on past projects.

The fact that there are so many curious holes, trenches, mismatched footers and bizzare retaining walls is what seems special to me!

As long as there is a scene where Mark Woodbury , wearing a monocle, turns around slowly in a chair petting a cat, and locks someone into a cage

The only inside info I've gotten so far... is that it will BE BIG.

No clarification or specification on big how exactly... but my guess would be take-up-that-whole-plot big.

It would be nice if it used different elevations in order pack more ride into that space, although the space is huge. I figures that they'll pour footers first before the structure is in place as it would be easier to dig and pour without working around the building.

But if they were to add a building, wouldn’t they need to poor a slab first? I get not putting walls up until later, but if there were indoor track, I would think the footers would be on the buildings fondation and not under it.

I imagine a building could have a dirt floor, but I am not sure that is practical. Anyway, I do not think I have ever seen a building go up in FL that wasn’t built on a concrete slab.

^ I believe I’ve known them to build the building and then lay the floor afterwards. As a matter of fact I believe they did some of that on Kong.

Yes usually you would build the foundation, then the walls and pour the slab last but here is a case where it’s the opposite.

They would not do a dirt floor inside under any circumstances. There are reasons to pour the floor after a building is erected, but even in those cases, they have to do the perimeter footer first. Thats what the building actually sits on. All grading for the plot would have to directed around that perimeter footer. We aren't seeing that here. Between the retention pond we've seen plans on, the location of the tunnel or trench, and the location of the tower cranes, it's clear there isn't going to be a large show building added. The water plans show three potential structures. The one that they have the sheet pilings going in, which is probably a support building. The tunnel/trench area which looks like is probably for some ride element. And the building that is going between the existing building and the road. That, I'm guessing, will be the maintenance area for the ride and maybe queue. That would allow for more show scenes in the existing queue building. After that, it's pretty much an all outside ride. I know people want all/a bunch of inside scenes for this ride, but what we are seeing, rules that out.
