Behind Mythos as well. I bring my kids there to feed the carps. No one ever there, total seclusion.

Starting to feel good about this. They can still muck it up. But a dedicated viewing area + hidden show equipment is telling me they might actually do it right this time.

I could see this being *more* like WoC than CineSpec was but not fully WoC. WoC is massive.

So out of Japan, Universal put out a press release about a new 3 dimensional sound system that has never been used anywhere else which will be used for the Water world show.

Introducing a new dynamic three dimensional sound system unique to Universal Studios. Experience the action of suspenseful stunts while surrounded by newly evolved “real” sound! he show’s sound quality has been enhanced by doubling the number of channels used in the attraction’s theater. Through the use of this dynamic three dimensional sound system, the sound effects have exceeded the level of “sounds” with increased depth and breadth in direction and distance and successfully created a fully immersive experience making guests feel as if they are in the middle of the action.

Add in all the other stuff UC put in Japan

Park guests will be completely enveloped and fully immersed in this brand new and continually changing entertainment, which far surpasses the traditional theme park parade experience.
The impossible is made possible with perfect synchronization of projection mapping, which completely cover the surroundings, floats incorporating dynamic movements, high quality film lighting, sweeping cinematic score and performances by live entertainers through the use of “Show Orchestration,” an outstanding technology specially developed by Universal Creative.

I would assume way less water screens and way more something thrilling.

Replace WoC's massive waterscreens with the SF facades across the lagoon and you can get something similar feeling with a lot less infrastructure installation in the water. I agree that this won't be as big, but I see work arounds to make it similar in feel.

Here's to hoping they can finally pull something great off

I believe that while both the IOA and US lagoons do act as temporary retention ponds, they are interconnected to the larger retention ponds around property. I am just assuming that US and IOA are on stage and should they need more or less water, they call on all of the satellite ponds elsewhere... the largest of which is the pond south of the garages.

But this is just my observation and guess. ;)

I think I remember seeing a diagram from Nintendo's plans that show the retention pond for the kid zone area is actually the lake by Portofino.

A lot of the charm of WOC is how the lake is transformed:

I remember when @Jonathan was filming it and posting certain bits of the BTS process on Twitter back then, and it's still one of the most interesting set-ups to a show.

Could the new F&F building come into play with this show?

If there's pyro, The Mummy would be the prime launch place as it's the direct center line from the central park viewing area. If they go with more pyro launch points Transformers and F&F would be symmetrical from the viewing area.

I doubt we'll get any significant pyro, but yea, it'd be in these areas considering the sitelines.

Seems like Transformers, the Starbucks/Film Vault buldings, and maybe the Louie's buildings would be locations for projection mapping.

Was there not a new building behind F&F? Even just for pyro storage.

World of Color is so much bigger than you'd expect until you see it in person. I could still see some of it from dining back in Paradise Garden Grill one night (if it's still called that).

It's costly but a worthwhile investment. These nighttime shows change everything about how guests visit the park, how long they stay, even leave and come back.

Not sure how much the Lombard's dining packages with the reserved viewing area brought in but I'm sure they will become even more popular if this show is significantly better.
Not sure if the dining package will be worth it (depends on how they price it), but the view will be absolutely stunning. There's a 2nd floor balcony used for show viewing.

As per midway mayhems 's recent upload, I don't quite get the use of scaffolding planks as a permanent structure. Easy to disassemble for sure.
Maybe one of you wizards could post the you tube link. Has some good HP coaster footage too.
