When I got there around 5:30-6:00 it had been raining, but I didn’t stop to watch it until 8:30-9:00.

As @Brian G. said they cut out a lot of the more intense stuff (dancing, stilt walkers, etc) out during and after it rains for safety.

Same here I'll be there tomorrow night too, I have express but want to hit houses multiple times.
