I don't think it has much to do with appeal..but the type of game that Skyward Sword is.

If they would do something, they'd likely have to revamp the motion controls entirely; or remove them with new control schematics.

And either one, may bring a bit of controversy.

...anywho, if it isn't a SS port, then I'm more confident in thinking that EAD3 will be doing a 2D Zelda of some sort.

That’s actually one major change hardcore fans would absolutely love. On top of that make Fi less annoying and the game less hand-holdy and they could sell more than the Wii version easily.

But then there’s the issue of putting so much work into a port rather than a new game. I’ll put my hopes on a new 2D Zelda.

At that point why rerelease it? Just make a new game.

Yeah I added that before your comment showed up.

Patcher is at it again I see.

Talk to me AFTER Smash Bros. comes out. This game will move systems.

Nintendo really should have had it out before Black Friday, but they didn't want it interfering with that Pokemon title, I'm assuming.

I do agree that a better "Black Friday" bundle was needed. $299 for a Switch with Mario Kart VS PS4 with Spiderman for $199 is a tough one.

The price really does need to drop to get momentum up again. I'd prefer that then a "new model".

Pokemon is the fastest selling Switch title. They didn't need Smash out for Black Friday because Pokemon is just the bigger property, and there's no question about that.

Geoff Keighley has said just ten new games would be announced. He did not say if it's for a set platform (which, it wouldn't) for TGA.

Odds are, we will see a Nintendo reveal of some sort, considering that they revealed Bayonetta 3 last year.

Okay. I was gonna say. 10 games is a lot for one platform at the awards haha

All platforms I think, though it would not surprise me if Nintendo has the most aces up their sleeve.

Honestly, I do place my bet that this is where Prime 4 gets properly revealed. It's about time, and would make sense if they pair that with an announcement of the trilogy getting ported with HD graphics (similar to Bayonetta 1+2 and Bayo 3 both being a paired announcement.

If not, I suspect something will be talked about of Zelda. Whether DLC for the 2 year anniversary, or something else; I wouldn't be shocked if that gets a brief moment (considering that did get GOTY).

I wonder if Pikmin 4 is still a thing too, was supposed to be in development a few years ago. I think there will be some Mario Kart DLC soon as well.

I agree that it's the bigger property, but I don't agree that it would move as many systems as Smash will. I think the mainline Pokemon game coming next year will be a bigger system seller. Smash appeals to a slightly wider age base, including more "hard core" type gamers.

To..argue, if you will; last year, only two things came out from Nintendo (two and a half, if you consider the port.

That was The Champions Ballad getting shadowdropped immediately after the awards, and Bayonetta getting some love.

I would not be surprised if we don't see much..but if we do,

I get the distinct impression, Fire Emblem Three Houses would be more likely than Pikmin 4 in regards of getting any treatment. Especially considering how that one is going to be most likely in the spring-period.

I mean, maybe? But Smash has never sold as well as Pokemon has. Pokemon usually sells 15+ million copies. The most Smash has ever sold is 13.5 million.

Still a powerhouse, but Pokemon is just far more successful.

Fair, but we haven't exactly gotten much information from that one, unlike Yoshi as of this point. And that's also not considering that both Yoshi and FE were delayed from their original slots of 2018 (and FE's original tentative slot).

I would think, Nintendo would want to keep people aware, that Yoshi will not be the only game for the spring period.

Eh. Maybe. I just don’t think Fire Emblem is gonna make much of a splash.

There’s always that rumor that Animal crossing is dropping in Q1. That would be a big announcement

yeah, Fire Emblem and even Metroid are "niche" titles. Mario, Mario Kart, Pokemon, Smash, Zelda are still the bread winners for Nintendo. Everything else is minor league.

Fire emblem will make a splash overseas...whereas Metroid popularity is very much domestic and Europe. Is Nintendo directing announcements at VGA towards US audience or international audiences?
