Wasn't sure where to put this but I've heard from a performer friend that the stilt walking mummy guards are being cut. Can anyone else confirm? Love those guys and they definitely added something to the lower lot and were always entertaining to watch. Would be a shame if true

As far as I am concerned yes, this is true.

This is correct. Spongebob, Patrick, and the walk-around "monster" Mummy are also being cut after NYE. Not sure on Frankenstein's Monster or Dracula yet.

I don't think so. More an indication of general belt tightening that's hitting non-essential entertainment first.

I don't think it is. I think this is just another piece of the ongoing entertainment cutbacks we've been seeing.

Doubtful that it means much in the grander scheme.

I feel like we should continue this on the proper thread for character meet and greets..but that's a massive bit, especially on Spongebob and Patrick. Is Dora still around for USH? Because if not..that's going to be interesting to see the Nickelodeon characters finally make their leave.

Is this more fallout from JP the Ride possibly being too far over budget and needing more fixes to get it up to par?

Is it just a coincidence that the APs just plummeted in cost?

My god....I really at this point rather them have not touched the ride if this is the cost of it...the entire park and events are cut back because of one ride getting a better ending? No thanks

There are many who are mentioning the $15 minimum wage hitting California. These increases always have an effect to the general public which people seem to forget. Some will lose their job tomorrow, the general public will feel the pinch.

A cut here and there can have a bigger effect than some think. Also, I'm sure live entertainers in Hollywood are more expensive due to unions and such.

You would be very surprised how payroll is the largest expense for any company. Just because Universal and Comcast are major corporations and businesses, they must still watch their bottom line.

Or you know, company executives who are making millions can take a little pay cut instead of taking the problems with their bad decisions out on frontline workers. GREED!!!

Budgeting for theme parks is a complicated thing. Things like SNW get funded from Corporate. But smaller additions come from the parks profits. USH has a lot of smaller projects in the works like JW:TR, SLoP, NBC Sports Grill & Brew, and Toothsomes. USH also shot themselves in the foot by overshooting the acceptable price point for APs and have had to backtrack on that.

It sucks, but some cuts had to be made.

Wait.

So SpongeBob and Patrick aren't even going to be on the parade float? Is it just going to be Squidward doing meet and greets in the SpongeBob store?
