It is set in a 'theatre', not a 'theater'. A movie theater and a live theatre may share similar elements but the house is definitively in a live performance setting. I don't quite know why mannequins would be in a movie theater anyways.

Have you heard it’s something like this? A lot of movie theaters were converted theater houses, meaning movie theaters look like theater houses.

That reminds me of the Universal Palace Theater, especially the marquee with the big vertical sign, and the theater like sign.
