The maintenance crane for the Heimlich Chew-Chew train attraction. Used to lift the ride cars on and off the track.

I think they’re trying for a pun, but it’s a pretty big stretch

Wishful thinking: Once the Avengers E-Ticket opens, I would love to see Web Slingers closed for a proper Spiderman ride…I’m looking at that Spiderman coaster that’s coming to Shanghai. Some variation of it would be great.

Avengers Campus will be more than fine with Mission Breakout, Stark Labs, and Infinity Defense open. Web Slingers is total doo-doo and needs to be replaced badly.

There really isn’t room for a proper Spider-Man ride there without razing Disney Junior

I’ll try to scratch up a crude layout once I get the chance but I think there’s a bit more room to work with than you think. There is that empty sauce where they have the food stands for food and wine.

If they’re willing to also raze Disney Jr for it…even better. Worthless use of space put to good use!

I'm almost scared to admit this - but Web Slingers was me and my friends favourite ride both here and in Paris

Yea I agree! I think its a fun ride, but I don't think it holds its own as the only ride in avengers campus.

I’m not the biggest fan of Web Slingers (and I was especially mean to it when it opened…) but it has its place and I can say I do enjoy it. It suffers from Mario Kart’s issue where the expectations for the IP are skyhigh but the end-result is something fundamentally different.

Web Slingers was really hampered by being the only new ride and being attached to the strongest superhero IP when it’s just a C/D-Ticket that occupies a very small space. I don’t think it’s a surprise that the ride’s title doesn’t lead with the Spider-Man name.

So I got bored and pondered hwo they could put some form of the Spiderman coaster in Shanghai at Avengers Campus in place of web slingers. Behold: My rough plan on how they could pull it off:

The red track represents the forward portion while the yellow represents the backwards. As you can see, if they are willing to forgo the Dr Strange mini show, there is some space for some track. Perhaps if you get a little more creative with the layout, you could squeeze more track in there. I just personally like helixes. The blue represents the building as some of this would be indoors and the green represents the queue area. While it would be shorter than Shanghai's, there is space to put a family coaster that DCA desperately needs.

Just wanted to throw this out there because I want to demonstrate that there is more space to work with than people think. Heck, you could utilize the Disney Junior space if you wanted to! Also we can do away with Web Slingers. Oh and that random long box at the loading area represents the length of the coaster train. Borrowed that from the IncrediCoaster's length for reference.

Cool! I had a similar thought about sacrificing Web Slingers for a Spider-Man coaster (the park needs a themed coaster!). The gravity building would be to the east of ToT (the wide road there isn't necessary any more, reduced landscaping buffer and a thin perimeter access road is sufficient). The queue load/unload would be in the Web Slingers building, and the coaster would launch you down a Spidey tunnel above Pym Test Kitchen and into the gravity building. Whether your approach or mine, I think the added kinetic energy would help the land!

Nice layouts! We should consider the Dr. Strange show dead at this point and never coming back. Waste of space in the land.

This is great! My only concern about your proposal is the placement of the gravity building might be tricky with those alternate and emergency access roads. That’s kind of important.

I might try to draw up one for fun including the Disney Playhouse theater

Indeed, this is based on an unverified theory that since they are no longer routing guest vehicles around the wide road behind DCA, they can have a similar access road as seen elsewhere backstage in the resort, such as at recently built SWGE, where the building-to-property-line/Disneyland Dr. distance looks about 16 meters. So I used that here, putting the outside of the gravity building in the middle of that old wide road.

I used the power lines as the property line but I suspect Disney's property actually goes outside that, closer to Harbor, based on the location of the Monorail track and backstage buildings behind Tomorrowland, as seen in image below...so the goal was to be conservative.

Totally possible this is all wrong, but maybe there's an exciting possibility they actually could fit a gravity/show building there.

Web Slingers has always felt like a phase 1 filler attraction. If Infinity Defense and a possible 5th attraction that takes over the Hyperion go for grander more catch all themes that can be easily updated in conjunction with the MCU's slate, then Web Slingers will start to stick out like a sore thumb.

IMO, what they can do to fix it would be to do is retire WS for a smaller scale trackless ride that extends into the portion that used to be the ITTAB entry tunnel and current patio area. This new ride could be themed to Marvel Animation as the lands family friendly level attraction.
