Best Pizza near Universal?

Hi everyone,

Coming again this year to stay at Sapphire falls for HHN . We are from the UK and big pizza fans.

My experiance with Orlando has been mixed, I liked blaze a few years back and thought that flippers was just ok.

Any reccommendations- we are looking to order to the hotel on our first night .

NYPD on Universal Blvd. I think they deliver that far, tho you might have to use the Metro West location.

Dang, different strokes. Margharita pizzas are my jam and the ones there are almost as good as Via Napoli IMO.

Conversely, I did not like Giordano's when I tried it.

I wish Universal would work on in-park food...although as it is, it's no worse than the fare at MK, DHS and SWO.

NYPD on Universal Blvd. I think they deliver that far, tho you might have to use the Metro West location.

Agree on NYPD, and the Metro West location may be as close or closer to Universal and the Universal Blvd. location: NYPD Pizza – The Only Official NYPD Pizza Franchise In The World

I still stand firmly behind NYPD, but there's definitely a new contender in Sal's Brooklyn Pizza Bar (in the unfortunately named O-Town West, midway between Universal and Disney if you take back roads). Amazing NY-style pies coming out of a wood-fired oven. You can get a full pizza, as well as some subs, but the emphasis is on pizza by the slice, and they have like a dozen options ready to go, from the traditional to the weird. If you have a car at either resort, worth a visit; would also pair nicely with a trip to Target or the Outlet Mall, both nearby.

Sal’s Pizza Bar is expensive but they make really great Meatball/Chicken/Veal parm sandwiches! Best I’ve found in this area, and it feels like an authentic NY/NJ pizza shop. I ordered online and got there a little early, and the young girl cashier turns to the cook and says “Are the sandwiches ready yet?”, and he in a thick Italian/Brooklyn accent says “Do you see any sandwiches sitting on top of the oven?”. It was the most authentic experience in Orlando.
