I got to visit for my first time July 9 & 10. Had a blast! Longest wait of the day was maybe 15 minutes for Verbolten. We spend the majority of our time on Verbolten and Apollo's Chariot; two incredibly fun rides!

As far as BGW vs BGT, BGW is definitely better as an overall park. Regarding rides though, I prefer the coaster collection at BGT. BGT just needs a ride like Apollo's Chariot and we would be set.

As far as rides that can be compared:

Sheikra vs Griffon: I prefer Sheikra for the surroundings and the tunnel. Griffon has a strange jerk in the track just after the splash and the small hill into the brakes was a little painful.

Montu vs Alpengeist: Montu wins it for me mainly because of the Batwing and I prefer the order of elements.

The others can't really be compared IMO.

Longest wait was 15 minutes?!?! Is this the norm for summer time?

It was not very busy when I went either. but be warned EVERYTHING shuts down ridewise when there is a storm. Happened twice when I was there. and once was 3 hours.

Good thing is, Saturday weather is partly cloudy, 91 degrees and 0% chance of rain

It can be. Just like it can be for any theme park. I've been to Universal on a peak day and seen Men In Black have a 15 minute wait. I remember barely queuing for Alpengest and Loch Ness being all but a walk on. They have some days where there are more groups and those days will have longer waits, but it can be a very manageable park as well.

I've been there on Saturdays in early August in the past. The park was OK for lines in the morning, but became pretty crowded after Noon. But my last visit was in 2010.

Thanks for the photo update. I have been going to BGW since the mid-'70s and I just love the park.

The landscaping of the place was amazing! Very beautiful. The carnival/Roman section was the only oddball area that I did not enjoy. I liked the place leagues better than BGT mainly because of the theme.
