Are those your pics UNIrd? If so, thanks, and too, why is the second picture flipped horizontally?

Too, does anyone have a sense of the size of this lazy river compared to other parks in the area? Shorter, longer?

Also, a hotel manager I met at Galaxy Bowl confirmed the 5th hotel "next to Royal Pacific." He said it'd be opening next year but I'm pretty sure that's impossible.

Doubting Universal is not a smart thing these days. If they want something done, it'll get done.

I know but can they build a resort in a little over a year?

Actually, I just went to page 1 of this thread and saw Cabana was announced less than 2 years ago. So I guess they really could do it if they wanted.

"Hotel 5" was in the Loews contact addendum for CBBR, as was "Hotel 6". Hotel 5 being a Loews branded hotel.

Hotel 6 is marked for the empty space at the end of CBBR. Either as an expansion of CBBR or a boutique hotel.

Gosh, now I want to speculate about it but we don't even know what Hotel 5 is going to be yet

I wouldn't be surprised of they started anytime like now. That technically gives them 20 months.

I'm expecting another surprise announcement like they did with Cabana Bay. No media event, just a press release and Facebook/Twitter posts.

I think I had a view of what's going to be the new hotel site from my room. I had standard view in the Castaway building.

Seems like most here have been on the "Universal Cloud", its time to jump down to earth and hear the negative reviews. Bwahahaha

Just read some reviews on trip advisor and they are not not too good. I know it just opened, but some of these things shouldn't be happening either way.

"The walls are paper thin. I can clearly hear Everything between the doors that connect the rooms."

"No exhaust fan in either the tub or toilet area."

"When the room was cleaned on the fourth day, we returned from the park and the door was not even closed."

"They sure didn't spend money on bedding, 2 sheets, 1 micro thin bedspread,no blanket"

"iPod stolen from the room and still haven't heard anything from them and this was reported 2 days ago."

The only toiletries provided are Zest and VO5 shampoo (which let my daughter to remark, "isn't that the shampoo they sell at the dollar store?").

The hotel maybe considered a "value," but I dropped a lot of dough. For a moment, I thought I was at Disney where your money quickly disappears.

And here is my opinion, the resorts theme is cool now because everything is nice and clean but when a couple of years go by and the colors begin to fade a little and the white resort turns gray, its really going to look like a real 1950's hotel in Jersey.

Well, the last one is meaningless. It's still a theme park hotel (also, that person gave the hotel a 4 out of 5 rating)

On the site 15 out of 24 reviews gave the resort 4 or 5 stars, with the majority of that number being 5s, and those reviews coming from trusted reviewers on the site. Adding in the people who gave the hotel an average score of 3 out of 5 brings that number to 20, or 83% of the reviews.

To say the hotel is not getting good reviews when 63% of the reviews mark it as good to great, and 83% at least call it fine, is stretching the sample to suit the above post's desired agenda.

The last one isn't meaningless. I went through the good and bad reviews and found that even though she gave it a good review, she felt like the value wasn't there. I didn't just jump to the negative reviews, I read them all.

They cant fix the "thin walls"
Its too late to add fans to all the bathrooms
The sheets are thin
And its not a true "value" (sure compared to the other onsite hotels it is)

Most said they looked passed the flaws and gave it better than average reviews because it was brand new, in 6 months these problems above will still be there but the newness wont.

And I'm sorry but for a new resort to have half of its ratings average-below average isn't good news.

It doesn't. 15 above average, 9 average.

Thin sheets can be fixed in a day. The value thing is a meaningless comment in context. The fan thing is a mistake, but far from a deal breaker for most (also, I find it funny almost everyone rated the rooms 3+ stars).

The real problem seems to be the service, which will of course improve as time goes on.
