It has broke this morning that Cedar Fair has acquired two of the iconic Schlitterbahn parks, with the two locations they purchased being the New Braunfels location, and the Galveston location.

Cedar Fair Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire Two Iconic Texas Water Parks From Schlitterbahn

Additionally, they purchased property from them within Kansas City. The deal in total estimates at 267 Million dollars (USD), in a Cash Purchase.

This would mean that for the Schitterbahn company, that the only locations it'd have would be the South Padre & Corpus Christi locations.

Smart move by Cedar Fair. Instead of buying up as many water parks and amusement parks as possible and being left with the burden of fixing them up, like Six Flags is doing, Cedar Fair is buying proven winners here that won't require a ton of investment from them to keep them afloat. Plus, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels and Galveston had a significantly higher attendance last year than any other Cedar Fair water park, as well as any Six Flags water park.

Doesn't Sclitterbahn mean 'slippery road' or something? Like WTF?

Why did Sclitterbahn sell? It seems like Cedar Fair got a steal for these parks.

I think the accident at the Kansas park took its toll on the company.

Really curious to see what happens to these parks now. Schlitterbahn used to be an innovator in the industry...I don’t expect to see much innovation anymore.

IF the indictment was true, they got what was coming for them, I'm afraid.

So from Screamscape, they have heard that CF has also bought the name, and has brought along certain individuals from Schlitterbahn.
