On one hand, closing a location or two would be a very corporate thing to do, but on the other hand they could probably stand to selectively consolidate a bit. SF America is probably worth more if they sold the land to build housing and strip malls, then they could ship some of those rides elsewhere (not that there’s much there).

Judging by my local Cedar Fair park, they don’t have too far to slide!

I have only been to Kings Island this year but it was fine. The Dragster locker situation at Cedar Point isn't great but I haven't heard bad things about their operations. Hopefully, the problems at one park don't bleed into the others.

Knott's operations haven't been great. Ghostrider is still single train ops, resulting in 3-5 hour lines. Xcelerator is still single train as well (at least, it was when I went two days ago). And of course there's the obvious Montezooma debacle, and apparent Camp Snoopy downgrade (losing the theater)

Agreed. I am so concerned about this dragging the Cedar Fair parks into the morass of Six Flags.

I think it will be Six Flags parks being brought up, not Cedar Fair parks going down. The top management will almost all be the current CF team running things.

Gonna' be a tad blunt here, Cedar Fair is not in the shape you might think it is. Friends who work at various parks can confirm, they've been slipping over the past several years.

So….no one is gonna mention the announcement of Snake River Falls closing?

I think that’s an absolute shame. The park has like no flume rides left. There’s only Thunder Canyon left and that’s it. Yeah I know there’s the water park, but I mean a ride where people can get splashed and cool off at the normal park.

I know this will not happen, especially not after Shoot the Rapids, but Cedar Point could really use something like Catapult Falls from Sea World San Antonio.

I was there about two weeks ago and Snake River was running for the first time in several years that I have been going. And it carried a minimal wait all day...same with Thunder Canyon. These things will not be missed by many

No I haven’t. It doesn’t look like it would move the needle but looks like a fun flume ride. Are there issues with it?

I was at Valleyfair last week and their shoot the chutes is right up by the park entrance. It was a warm day and while the ridership was nothing to write home about, a massive crowd gathered around the bridge and post-drop turnaround. It reminded me how much kinetic energy a ride like this can offer, depending on its placement. I remember this vividly growing up with Monsoon Falls at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.

It's a bummer to see these rides go out of fashion. I think they add value beyond their (fun!) ride experience.

Aside from it being being delayed a year after being built due to issues. Not sure how it is running so far but to me it doesn't look that exciting. The "launch" is essentially a fast conveyor belt into like a 15 ft hill. Haven't heard much about it.

I'm hoping they take a stab at a new flume (you know one WITHOUT OSTRs) that uses the SRF plot plus the old Frontiers thing.

Something like this ant the Point would be a banger of a flume ride:

Isn't that the same flume system Dudley Do-Right uses?

Deep down inside I hope they use the land for a follow up GCI to mystic timbers and prowler. . .

Man I figured getting Zamperla to do the project would not go well but I didn’t think they would crap the bed THIS bad. Good grief.
