The crazy thing is that there were a good number of people saying that, especially during the summer & early fall and even a few during the past holiday season. One of the most prominent naysayers had basically said the exact same things about Transformers the previous year, but he disappeared in a huff when his info was compromised. And even yesterday & today there was a commentator on TPI that kept saying Universal "bungled" Diagon, that they had a bad management team, and they needed to look up the road at Disney for how to run a theme park. All of the signs have been evident that this was a big success. Sure there may have been a couple of retail stores that didn't do as well as they hoped. But the retail stuff is always a bit of a crapshoot, you win some you lose some, that's the nature of retail. Heh, this is a huge success. Universal has had such a tremendous increase in park capacity in the past two years that even though it may not look like it on some days, there's just so many more people in the park due to that increase in capacity, much of it hidden away in Diagon behind he walls. I was there for what is supposed to be the two slowest weeks of the year in September, and all of the HP areas & attractions were swamped every day, all day. When I was writing those first words I could vividly remember those arguments from the dissidents. Everyone, of course, is entitled to their opinions, but I couldn't understand why they were being so anti Universal, unless it was just a troll thing....Glad you read the rest of my words. Mad Dogs may be a little crazy, but certainly not that crazy. LOL

It seems that these numbers have made an impact on multiple fronts. Many many things that were orderly scheduled to happen over a reasonable yet ambitious time-frame have been given an immediate "go, Go, GO!!!". From small improvements to wild upgrades to who knows with the big stuff.

Let's hope this Titanic doesn't hit an iceberg.

Good report all round. Theme parks up, Internet up, ad revenues down (one day they'll kill off cnbc and msnbc, and I'll sleep a little easier).

I have to wonder if we didn't get more concrete Kong information the other day because Uni is getting its ducks in a row before announcing multiple things at once.

Disney does have the D23 expo this year, after all.

I would love mummy to get a major facelift. It really needs it. With their kuka love I wish they could put an imotep on a kuka for the turntable scene.

Regardless it's very exciting for them to keep building and upgrading. I'm glad they see the value of reinvesting back into the parks.

Build it and they will come.
