Definitely weight distribution. One ride in the front we barely spun at all, near the end of the day when we rode again we were spinning like crazy in the same seats.

1 or 3 riders gets lots of spin. 4 riders, not so much. If there are only 2 riders and they sit together, not a lot of spinning, more like drifting.

Saw another POV for Monsters Unchained.. I want the ride to be 2min longer lol. Despite being an amazing looking ride, my brain couldn't help nitpick how "random/thrown-in" a few monsters show up.

- Hunchback (why is there a bell in the catacombs? Why is he in the catacombs!?)
- Phantom (why is he just randomly playing his organ across from Victoria as she presents Dracula? lol)
- Gillman (feels like a space filler with no explanation)
- Mummy (again, great scare, but random appearance)
- Wolfman (love the scare/fights, but also random)

The ride really seems to be a Frankenstein vs Dracula presented by Victoria & Ygor storyline. Obviously video quality isn't the greatest so I know I'm missing set details that help the story, but isn't this set in the catacombs beneath Frankenstein Manor/Darkmoor?
(Trust me, my brain would nitpick & dissect this ride after experiencing it in person)

I wish this land was bigger & had more rides/attractions haha.. if they ever need to redo Potter, I vote Phantom & Quasimodo take over Paris

The whole plot of the ride is that Victoria has controlled all of the monsters thus far other than Dracula and we're getting a demonstration of her experiments. That's why they're all there. There's "found footage" played in the queue of them capturing these monsters. My headcanon is that she controlled them and kept them appeased by feeding their interests. Controlled Quasimodo was given his bell and Phantom his organ. Both of them are happy and "controlled".

However, Dracula breaks free and leads a revolt of the monsters. Wolfman, Mummy, and Gillman all attack the car at this point as they've broken free of the control.

My understanding is Victoria has literally achieved mind control of the monsters, and had the Phantom play music to entertain her and set the stage for her grand experiment. The machine she created for Dracula as part of the experiment we've come to witness on the ride was to take control of his mind, not to appease him.

I could also see that. I need some more ride-throughs not spent with my jaw open and giggling the whole time (and to more thoroughly look at the data scribbled on the queue chalkboards that explain her experiments lol).

Okay... now to find a full queue POV lol

Thanks. That makes it sound more cohesive. Still just surprised Bride of Frankenstein isn't present (although she's on a side quest with Saskia Van Helsing... she used the flu network to travel the HHN monster-verse)

Honestly though, come on Universal.. give us a multi-season series on Peacock! Graphic Novel trilogy (hardcover)! *sigh* I'd even take an official book series at this point "Tales of Darkmoor"/"Lost Journals of Frankenstein".

Okay so I saw a video of the queue... I wanted to slap the person for their terrible lack of showing off all the details *sigh*

But from what little bit I did see, holy crap... I would end up with at least 500 pics in each room. Let me wander the manor! I'm jealous of the crew getting to roam Frankenstein Manor before the switchbacks got installed.

Oh & I like the hidden doorways to the pre-shows! Speaking of preshow, saw a video of B-mode. The Victoria screen isn't terrible, just a little awkward, however it works well as a backup

Those two rooms after Victora's office especially. The amount of notes and diagrams could keep someone busy for awhile

Oh I'm no amateur with that. I bought an Anker battery pack for Disneyland 2 years ago. Then bought a 2nd one for KCON LA last year lol

My issue now is needing way more space than my phone can handle :skull::lmao: which reminds me, I need to make space on my phone for a concert on Sunday *sigh*

One question about the area that has me wondering. What is the chronology of the monsters? Some are supposed to be the originals but that can't be true for a few of them (age). So is there any up to date lore for how some of these monsters still exist in modern day? For instance, the Wolfman, is that supposed to be Lawrence Talbot from the first movie or a modern version?

I guess one explanation could be that when the monsters were captured they were held in stasis.

And I know I am way over thinking the setting.

Dracula - Original monster
Frankenstein's Monster - Completely new and remade
Phantom of the Opera - ?
Mummy - Original
Gill-man - ?
Invisible Man - ?
Wolfman - ?

That's what I've bene trying to figure out as well. I believe with the exception of Monster (as you said), they're all meant to be the originals.

I actually asked Griffin how he's still alive and in a great interaction, was so taken aback by it and growled back "How are YOU alive? You don't just ask a man of my genius how he's still alive!".

That's a pretty great ad lib. I'm sure all of the character performers will get some clarity on how they're meant to respond to some recurring questions, if they haven't already.

Phantom is supposed to be the original, there’s a photo of Christine in the queue and it’s the original 1925 actress. Plus no other version of the character really looks like the Lon Chaney version.

I don’t see any reason why Gill Man and Invisible Man couldn’t be the originals, AFAIK the characters that are being changed are those that closely resemble their actors and have messy estate business involved

Wait isn't Phantom just a regular dude with a scarred face? How is he running around over 100 years old?

You guys are really overthinking this. It's presumed that Victoria Frankenstein has captured these monsters and experimented on them with all sorts of tech to keep them alive and in her control, for better or worse.

I know it's over thinking. And not meant to be a criticism of the land/lore. Was just curious

Oh no, I wasn't really responding to your line of questioning. I just think if we try to think too hard about why a human "monster" is still alive 100 years later, we aren't seeing the forest for the trees. If we really want to go down that road, we see Invisible Man, Wolfman, and Phantom all die at the end of their respective movies.
