No. Victoria should absolutely be a meet-n-greet/photo-op character... especially since Ygor is one (AND HE DIES!)

Also they stated that all the monsters would be photo-op characters... including Phantom. I suspect the rest of the line-up won't be "out" in the land until the park opens

They never said all the monsters would be greeting. And all the ones they announced, already are out.

Having just watched the movie for the very first time, you can tell how much the designers of Darkmoor and Unchained are fans of Van Helsing 2004, and I mean that positively. As much as I do wish Unchained was a bit scarier, I can love and appreciate its campy aspects a lot more now.

That isn't to say the land and ride isn't horror at all and campy-action like the movie. I'd say a good way to describe it as a whole is Van Helsing 2004 if it was a bit less campy and took itself about 75% more seriously.

I saw VAN HELSING on opening night back in high school. What a crushing disappointment that evening was!

(I've since come to appreciate it as goofy fun.)

My best friend & I were obsessed with it (and Underworld). We saw Van Helsing in theatres at least 5 times (back when "cheap" theatres existed). Loved the soundtrack too.

He'd definitely love Dark Universe. Wish Hollywood would get a wave of updated merch lol

I might watch Van Helsing later today now lol. I've been meaning to watch it since last year after Eternal Bloodlines (Saskia... my shayla) but haven't yet. Also to comment on some of the stuff needed in this land, I absolutely agree with @Wesker69 that we NEED a Victoria Frankenstein M&G. It's absolutely criminal we haven't gotten one already. Also need more VF merch please!

I also recommend watching "Monster Squad", while a WB movie, it is very "Monsters Unchained" vibes

(Plus... Wolfmans got nards)

There's a lot of great stuff in it! (The intro, the Wolfman transform effect)

BUT, there's also a lot of horrible stuff, too.

I love the idea of a Van Helsing ride being a beloved theme park property unconnected from its inspiration, like Waterworld.

It's the recycled CGI from Mummy that irks me. And the Lion King sky sequence. The Frankenstein Monster's voice. Hulk-style Mr Hyde. .....why do i like this movie again? Lol

It was said to be animatronics heavy like Monsters Unchained, but it'd be in the 2004/2005 era ....so I imagine it'd have more downtime than the current Epic Universe rides o_O

I'm one of the few that liked the Helsing movie, so I'm glad they did the Monsters attraction in that manner.

The question of whether Monsters Unchained is horror, I don't feel has a perfect answer that will satisfy everyone. Some may call it action, others horror. These genres are not set in stone by a deity; they're ill defined constructs, often changing person to person, culture to culture.

I'd call it action-adventure-horror in the same vein as other Universal pictures including The Mummy or Jurassic Park. But I'm sure not everyone will be happy me saying that.
