There's nothing remotely comparable coming to Disneyland this year.

Speaking of Orlando's version, I am not a huge fan of DM:MM.   The video gets old very quickly and on a scale of 10, the ride is only about a 5.  Not much to it.

I would suggest this:  Lower your hopes for DM:MM.  That way, you will only be impressed when you see it!

Is it a step up from Jimmy Neutron?  Yes, but only slightly.  Otherwise its the same thing.

I really think that people make a big deal about the queue theming. First of all we haven't seen the final thing yet, so there's that. Second, remembering all the layout from T2 there was no room to make a full inmersive themed queue. Remember that T2 was all an outdoor queue and some overflow. I really don't know what else they could've done in such short time... and even if they had the time what else could have they done?? The girls room?? Really?? Like walking into a house/museum? Well, to see the final product we just need to wait for 3 more months

I must say, I find the discussion about the queue or "lack" of queue to be a pointless discussion. As some have pointed out 1) we haven't seen the finished product 2) a queue is a mean of getting us to the RIDE 3) Disneyland does the exact same thing.

Pirates of the Caribbean has a lack of a themed queue. And no pictures on walls don't count.

Most queues if themed are themed for a small portion. Not every queue can be a Forbidden Journey or Indiana Jones.

We shouldn't critique or criticize what we haven't seen or experienced.

We are getting a new ride, SSFL plus an incredible facade. We should be grateful and not nitpick at the little things.

Let's not complain just to complain. Sorry had to get that off my chest.

I'm not complaining just to complain.....just as some of you don't find queues a big deal, my opinion is the opposite. It also depends on the attraction. I think it's fine to have an opinion and discuss things, especially considering I've mentioned more than once that I'm reserving final judgement until I see it in person, and that overall I'm VERY excited for the new additions. Mentioned this a few times. My issue is having the great facade and entering into a barren queue, as it just takes you out of what the facade set up in terms of immersion. From all reports I have heard about the actual ride, it's not that mind blowing. So that's why I was excited to possibly have a large immersive queue.

Again, it's not that big of a deal to me as I maybe make it seem...I'm sincerely excited for Minion Mayhem. If you think it's a pointless discussion, so be it. I won't discuss anything for a while then in this thread. Ride isn't open yet, so what are we supposed to do? Only mention positives that we've seen in the facade? Can we not discuss what has disappointed us so far along the way? Come on you guys. Let there be a difference of opinion....something pointless to you may not be pointless to others. I think that's slightly rude, as we all have different things we enjoy about the parks and nitpick on different things. For example, Jon really really loves the technological media side of the shows and rides, such as the audio components, speakers, and monitors, etc. If you're personally not interested in that aspect of the theme park world, you shouldn't tell Jon that discussing that is pointless, right? You shouldn't tell people to not discuss the queues either just because they're not that important to you.

With that mentality, I don't wanna hear about USH getting Diagon Alley, as it's "pointless".

Thank you. I'm fine that we all have disagreements, that's the beauty of having a discussion about a mutual interest. But to tell someone to STOP talking about something or saying it's pointless to discuss it or to say that something isn't important just because YOU don't think it's important, is just silly.

I'm still stuck on the fact that the T2 building decorative curls/swoops were left on.  I will be interested to see how the west side of the building fits into SSFL.  But, the right side still looks like Cyberdyne.  I also noticed in that photo that some of the original decorative facing/poles, is still present inside the queue.  Ok, I'll let it go, just like the queues.  I have a one year old, so it'll be years before I get back to the park.  They may demolish everything and start over once again with our recent experience.

I hate to KEEP bringing up queues, but I just wanted to nose in and point out that many themed, intimate queues were made a long time back with the intention that crowds wouldn't be swarming theme parks as they do today. Think of how many Disney attractions have that tiny themed portion of queue in the very end of what is usually a mountain of switchbacks. Heck, even the more themed portions of Transformers' indoor queue is barely 20 to 30 minutes of wait time. (if you excuse the long, agonizing hallway) By all indications, that is Minion Mayhem.

There I said my piece, and now to MOVE on: who else is really stoked that Hollywood is finally getting Funtastic World of Hannah Barbera after 24 years?!  :P

LOL

Too little, too late in my mind.  This ride system never inspired me.  I would rather have KITT return!

And IMO replacing an attraction which was groundbreaking with a simulator which is no more glorified than a mobile simulator is a downgrade to me.  Although, this is the way its going and I am happy that USH is respecting it as usual.  I look forward to the streetmosphere more than the actual ride system in this case.

Look at it this way. We've been wishing for years after Islands opened in Florida for more rides; now we're finally getting our wish. :P

True, and I like the fact that "under age 7" rides are finally coming in.  But we missed out on many greats such as MIB, and Hanna Barbara is just old style.

I get it, DM:MM was a cheap overhaul for Orlando.  Hollywood would have to spend more money on it to not only install the ride, but also improve upon it.  I only hope we do see something unique because our ride system did not go through revisions like Orlando did.
