Maybe... but once again I doubt it. I do think that the queue will be a little different than Florida's in that there will be references to Despicable Me 2 here and there. But I wouldn't expect them to digitally add in Lucy Wilde in anywhere or anything like that.

Seems the path in front of the new eatery and SSFL is blocked off, which means they're either redoing the pavement or trying to go into serious lockdown mode. Things seem supercharged right now, and I would probably expect soft openings in no less than two months from this date.  :D

Oh I know! I meant it'd be nice if they updated the attraction in the future. For now, I'm pretty sure it'll be a direct clone. (Although if they added in a T23D gag or reference, I'd be so damn happy!)

I can't wait for it to soft open though. I just hope they don't rush SSFL too much and make it look too cheap. What I'm worried the most about for now is the exterior of the exit/gift shop. Right now, it's just painted blue and is all plain and looks exactly as it did with T23D. You have Miss Hattie's, then the plain blue building, and then SSFL. I just hope it doesn't stick out too much.

But with only one screen, they can't really do a Disney and go Star Tours 2 on it. Really unlikely. I doubt they will. I'd like them to, but this is Universal after all. They're not going to spend the money and time developing new ride film. They just won't.

I guess that makes sense that with one ride screen it would be more difficult. Not impossible, they could still make it random each time. Would give better reride value since you have a chance of an all new experience the next time.

If not randomized eventually, I'd at LEAST like to see Minion Mayhem do a proper ride overlay and possibly make it a tradition, like Haunted Mansion Holiday. Have a holiday exclusive ride film and ride vehicle profile for the holidays, etc.

I was disappointed with the ride video for DM because its super fast paced, even more than Simpsons, and its just one gag after another until you reach the end.  The end of the video does lead into the final room before you enter the gift shop which really bookends the beginning and end of the ride.  That alone makes multiple experiences unlikely.  Also with focus going elsewhere in just 2 more years... DM is doomed for poor quality over time.

The ride system is very plain and doesn't push the boundaries of anything new.  Remember, I am speaking of Orlando's experience.  I do expect there to be some upgrade to the Hollywood product.

An easy upgrade to make it randomized is just change certain visual gags and scenes in the middle of the ride, since you said the beginning and end have to make sense with the final room.

Regardless, I'd rather have an eventual holiday overlay than an overall ride overlay.

The system is a clone of Florida's, I'm still pretty sure of that.

Just looking at a side by side comparison of the most recent picture of  Gru's house in FL vs the one here, It is starting to appear more and more evident how quickly they slapped DM together for USO.

Okay, the queue is now getting worked on. Once you see flat screens being installed, we're going to be at the finish line. I'm going to bold and say we're going to see employee previews happen by the last week of February.

Is that a bit of Terminator to the left still remaining?

Anyway, that's a pretty clever way of decorating the speakers in the queue. I had a nice chuckle when I saw those in Florida. I wonder if we'll get any special changes compared to our friends on the east coast.

That still looks very awkward to me. I would've hoped they would've extended the look of Gru's house's interior to the extended queue as well and enclosed it. Because from what it looks like, we'll enter a detailed facade and then BAM, plain exposed metal right away and a few little props.

Well that's not an angle you would get from inside the park.

Based on that picture, it looks like our extended queue will be just like Orlando's. I love the missiles.

I'm not expecting much. If you remember during the deconstruction phase, they seemed to have spared the steel structure from Terminator and incorporated it within Despicable.

I'd love to see some differences, but queue wise - I'm not that hopeful.

I wonder if they plan on building the other structures found in Super Silly Funland? So far, they've got the blue and white cones... I'd love to see the whimsical sea creatures and the tall, green structure. The coaster seems unlikely.
