None of this is the show's fault. Zero. Zilch. But I just have to wonder that when push comes to shove, what's going to happen. Disney sure as hell is not going to open its wallet to build that lobby, especially when they have to start expanding showtimes to meet capacity. (and y'know, the fact that it would restrict access to theater) I could very much see them rerouting the nearby restroom complex to the theater itself, but that would cause some issues for the dumb parties they keep throwing back there. Not to mention if it becomes Marvel Land.

Right then. I was never addressing the theater itself. The creatives behind the show can't help it if Disney's not willing to add restrooms to the show theater, and that doesn't really impact my perception of how they performed.

The backstage area is pretty open. At least enough for bathrooms. I haven't seen Frozen yet, but do they go into the audience? That could be the only qualm I'd see with them adding restrooms. There's a set of doors on either side on the orchestra that lead to hallways with doors that lead to backstage(which is surprisingly small, by the way). The hallway towards stage right could be used to connect to an added on bathroom, but only if they don't go into the audience like they did during Aladdin.

^ The cast is more involved within the orchestra seating area, so that's probably a no-go.

I was mostly using it as a jumping off point for how the running time is counterintuitive to the unfortunate operational issues. More like a "this why we can't have nice things" rant. It's a bummer.

From what I'm aware of, the restrooms were originally located as a part of that current terrace when it was an indoor lobby. I'm not sure if each floor had bathrooms, but the accessibility to move in and out was far greater than it is in the end result.

Moving off the topic of Frozen for just a bit, I'm just curious as to what everyone's thoughts are about Hollywood land possibly being turned into a Marvel themed land (as apposed to the previous rumor that it would be placed in the parking lot behind ToT). Do y'all like this idea?

I'd prefer the idea of them going towards the parking lot as opposed to..that.

If they do that, I'm completely fine with it.

As long as they leave Tower alone. No Guardians

I thought the rumor was that it would take over the Hollywood Backlot area? It doesn't make sense to me that the whole area would be Marvel themed considering they just finished up Frozen and show no intention of removing the other attractions that aren't marvel related.

I've always felt Marvel should be the highlight of a 3rd gate

It has been proposed of Disneyland Resort receiving a fourth hotel by 2021, along with a new parking structure for 2019 (coming from OC Register).

http://www.ocregister.com/articles/hotel-718500-disneyland-city.html

The new hotel would be on the current Downtown Disney Parking lot as the Parking Structure would be adjacent to the surrounding resort hotels of Disneyland Hotel; and the new hotel, as construction would possibly start for the structure by next year. Its also reported of the hotel starting construction in 2018.

Would like a value hotel but Disney obviously sees no use due to the sheer amount of offsite hotels. I just wish that, even in limited quantities they could give non-priveleged guests the opportunity to do EMH somehow.

I hope at least the theme is cool and we get an awesome themed bar especially. (*crosses fingers* Jock's! Jock's! Jock's!)

I wonder if they're already planning to do this. They had a meet and greet with Spiderman today near the Star Wars/Marvel store (don't remember the name) and the Hyperion.

And I finally saw the Frozen show today at the Hyperion and it was amazing!!! :D It definitely looks better in person than the pictures!

A brand new image has officially surfaced for the upcoming Star War's Land, thank's to Disney's Park Blog.

https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2016/07/disneyland-park-guests-get-a-peek-at-new-star-wars-themed-land/

In April, we celebrated the official groundbreaking of Star Wars-themed lands coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts, and beginning today, Disneyland park guests can get a glimpse of this exciting and immersive experience. A new image has been unveiled on the fence along Big Thunder Trail in Frontierland – one of the entry points to this never-before-seen planet in the Star Wars galaxy – revealing more about what guests will find in this all-new land.

Nestled between towering spires of rock, this thriving port contains a seemingly familiar architecture of markets, landing zones and buildings. Click here for a larger version of the image above. Look closely and you may find hints of some of the thrilling experiences that are coming – like the Millennium Falcon peeking out of one of the cargo bays, marking the location where guests will get the opportunity to pilot the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.

The 14-acre land will be the largest-ever single-themed land expansion at Disneyland Resort. Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog – we’ll continue to bring you updates as we learn more about this planet, as well as the citizens, aliens and droids who populate it.

The new Starbucks for DTD has officially opened.

https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2016/07/downtown-disney-district-at-the-disneyland-resort-wakes-up-to-a-new-starbucks/

Disneyland Resort guests will find a new location for their daily dose of refreshment beginning today with the opening of a second Starbucks in Downtown Disney District. The newest headquarters for handcrafted beverages and food items opened with a ribbon-cutting early this morning. It joins locations serving Starbucks creations in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks, as well as the previously existing Starbucks in Downtown Disney District.

Do you have a Starbucks favorite? Eat, sip and enjoy!

Regarding the rumor of ToT closing, I think you should read this:

http://disneylandnews.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/pdf/headless-horseman-haunts-mickeys-halloween-party-as-halloween-time-returns-to-the-disneyland-resort-sept-9-through-oct-31.pdf

The PR promotes being able to enjoy ToT during Halloween. Either the Guardians of Terror has been delayed or scrapped because everyone said it would close in September.

I don't think it means much of anything. Business as usual until the news drops. However I do think that Disney may just wait until November to shutter ToT and have a proper farewell upcharge event on Halloween (normally a pretty dead night) itself.
