And it looks similar to the 50th one, except a bit tackier.

I didn't know that was possible.

I don't think it looks tackier, I actually like it. Not crazy about the "diamond necklace" strings but otherwise I think it's a little more understated, since gold was so "loud". I like when they do something to the castle for the anniversaries.

The only thing that will get me excited is when...or I should say IF they announce any major additions. I'm looking forward to the Hatbox Ghost returning and the refurbed Peter Pan and Matterhorn.

The Magic Eye theatre is being used for extra seats for the Ceremony..And its titled there, 'Wednesdays With Walt'...

Micechat isn't wrong on this being VERY Walt Disney oriented...

*Correction: This is just them doing another showing of the Wednesdays With Walt showing they had in October. It still shows that Walt will have a presence this year for the 60th.

Well that's slightly underwhelming.

The following were announced tonight:

- Beginning of 60th celebration: May 22nd, 2015

- World of Color: Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney, starring Mickey Mouse

- Paint the Night, a new electrical parade

- Disneyland Forever, a park-wide encompassing firework show with projection mapping technology

- Diamond overlays of Sleeping Beauty Castle and Carthay Circle Theatre

New World of Color without all the advertising is all I needed.

I'm honestly only excited for the diamond overlays of the park landmarks. I don't really care much for the shows, so I'll be more interested if/when they announce the additions they've made to some of the rides around the park.

I'm a sucker for shows haha. Also glad to hear Paint the Night won't just be a carbon copy of what is in Hong Kong.

Interesting that they didn't announce Soarin'/Condor Flat's transformation or the Fantasyland dark rides getting an update, even though it's happening. Makes sense though, as neither technically has to do with the Diamond Celebration. They'll probably announce both as "extras" in the coming months. Although it would've been cooler to announce it now to make the event seem bigger.

I'm glad no rumored "60 hour party", that sounded moronic.

I'm extremely excited about the new fireworks show, I love how it'll be more than just fireworks but also really use clever projection mapping.

Not excited about Paint the Night at all, and I hope my opinion of it will change. From what I've heard and seen of the Hong Kong version, the floats are no big deal and too simplistic. And I don't like the musical score that much.

But ours is supposed to get more floats, so hopefully I'll be surprised.

Also can't wait for new World of Color, as well as all the diamond decorations.

But I'm underwhelmed that nothing "ride" related was mentioned.

Just as we should've expected, our Paint the Night parade will include a new Frozen float featuring Anna and Elsa.

Yeah, I saw that. I hope it looks nice! But I hope we'll get more than just Frozen as the new addition, as the Hong Kong version is painfully short and not many "wow" floats.

Funny.....this is newer parade, but the ancient classic Electrical Parade is still more amazing. I don't know if that's nostalgia talking or what...

Exactly what I expected. Nothing to write home about.

Well, I think that's sort of unfair. It's not NOTHING. I mean, what were we expecting? A new attraction to randomly plop out of nowhere? I'm sure they'll announce more little things as time goes on, as mentioned on the site.

2 brand new shows and a new parade is still great! And we're getting a reimagined Condor Flats and Soarin, and a lot of the rides are getting either beautifully refreshed or updated with special effects and all of the park is looking absolutely beautiful.

While I would've liked to see a new ride or new attractions announced, I'm not gonna complain :)

Its nice to see World of Color get an actual story instead of just being movie trailers on water screens.

Now I have a reason to see World of Color again.   Haven't seen the show since 2011.

Other than that, meh.

Not a fan of parades and pretty much all firework shows look the same to me.

Well, I will say that I'll definitely give the parade a chance. As long as it has some cool floats and a wide array of characters, I'd be up for seeing it. I've always liked Disney's parades (except when you're trying to go to/from Tomorrowland and the Matterhorn during Soundsational, which is a downright pain in the arse).

I've never found interest in the fireworks, and I've yet to see World of Color. Maybe the 60th Anniversary upgrades to those two shows will entice me?

Some more info on the firework locations came from the Q&A:

Rivers of America, Castle, Main Street, IASW, Matterhorn and other locations would be where we'd see the show have projections.

No... but a new exhibit or something a little more tied to Disneyland's history would be nice. The World of Color show is the only one remotely connected to the actual anniversary. I personally liked the rumors of giving guests a chance to experience a taste of DL's past with a temporary retro House of the Future, Circle Vision 360 and I think Keel Boats that MiceChat was reporting. Fake or not, something like that would blow me away and actually make me take money out of my vacation fund and visit Anaheim this year. Now... eh I'm fine with experiencing it through a laptop.

Otherwise it's the standard new fireworks, new parade, fancy decor shtick. Hopefully the rumored Innoventions exhibit comes to be, and yes the refreshed Fantasyland attractions will be nice but I'm sorry I am just not "wowed" by this announcement. Especially when the ceremony was a laughable 15 minutes in length.

^ I totally agree with you, don't take me wrong. I was really crossing my fingers they'd go for the whole rumored "nostalgia" theme, and would've announced more little things here and there. I agree that the announcement itself is underwhelming. I think it's beyond stupid that the blog said they'll reveal more things about the event soon. Like...really? Just do it all during the damn press event! They COULD have made it bigger.

The renders of "Disneyland Forever" are just amazing. But the preview looks like this is a new kind of fireworks hybrid with a show that will be a milestone in Disney history No matter where you are standing in the park, you will be able to see perfectly fine all the show

I really don't know what people want for the anniversary. They are refurbishing a lot of the rides to get them in top condition for the anniversary. Peter Pan will be overhauled, Matterhorn as well. The new fireworks/show will be impressive. The castle will get a mini World of Color treatment. I new ride would be nice but I am happy with what we'll be getting. Probably the announcement of Star Wars land will come soon. Or the announcement of the third gate.
