So, I can imagine they announce an "inside Out experience" for AC with Iger and team thinking people will go nuts with excitement due to the box office but rather it gets a "Hmm. I guess." response instead.

I know it has admirers, but I really don't want Zootopia.

Or, at the very least, the version of it that Shanghai got. That ride would be totally redundant in a park that already has Runaway Railway.

You know what i always wanted for AK(in its own "continent") that could come to HS?

I mean, honestly, if we look at the footprint and we want to go with something "Islands of Adventure" meets "Hollywood", i say we look no further; It beats the hell out of Zootopia and Moana imo.

Exciting times to be a theme park fan...

Len Testa on the WDW Magic forums is hinting a project for AC is under development and potentially revealed during Epic's opening week. Says its big enough to take away some attention from EU's opening.

Len's one of the best--so the fact he's saying that says a lot.

Personal throwball thinking; I think if their intention is to have an announcement that draws focus to WDW against Epic; it will be something that in so doing causes media reactions on a larger level beyond that of the general theme park community.

Part of me thinks this might also be tied to potential plays by Universal, that maybe a specific IP of note might be on it's way out sooner than later if it means USH and UOR can remove the theming more carefully (and for Disney to be able to use the IP at an appropriate time). Bluey is still tied with a third party partner having some involvement into the matters; Zootopia is already on it's way to DAK. Neither of them makes sense for this.

I think it might be time to reconsider how much longer we got left in The Simpsons.

Moana 2 was not good (it would have been fine as a show) but made insane money. They should do it.

Inside Out as part of a grander Imagination redo unfortunately makes sense. If that gives Disney executives the confidence to redo the pavilion, so be it.

I don't think the Simpsons. The AC (and adjacent land) is big enough to fit multiple experiences, so we could see a heck of an expansion here.

It'll be interesting to see where they see Moana going. Moana between Tower of Terror and Chinese Theatre will be weird, but modern Disney would do it.

As a SHOW. Having an IP in multiple parks also isn't something new with Disney so I wouldn't exactly say it doesn't make sense. If you really think Simpsons is taking over AC you're crazy. Moana and Zootopia are better options and more realistic ones.

Unless if my math isn't mathing--the space you get with Disney Jr, AC, and the backstage area as a whole would only give you so much. Unless you were to completely redo infastructural and back of house elements outside of this; I think it's going to be a one IP land. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I think Disney is going to focus on a singular IP.

I will give credit where it's due--while it is a small element; it is still a notable element. And it's locational positioning isn't something to undercut either, with it being in the center of Disney's Animal Kingdom. I also will acknowledge that there is a certain provisional clause with Shanghai Disneyland, that could allow things to work for a potential 2029-2030 opening window (as I believe they have a 5 year exclusivity clause if I am not mistaken).

But I think Disney is going to focus their efforts on a IP that would be new for the resort, and a IP that would get attention.

I am appropriately crazy. But I think Disney will try to squirm and look for any way to obtain their IP fully; no matter how it might occur or seem. I also think the detheming process for Springfield might require Universal to close The Simpsons Ride + Springfield earlier than some may expect, so that way they ensure they don't get caught into the Mouse's knickers.

The quick detheming of Spider-Man to erase it from USJ is quite a interesting thing to look at. Now apply that to a whole set of lands.

Moana would be the way to go. It's so popular right now and has been for years still (crazy that the first film is the most viewed Disney+ media title) and despite that walkthrough at Epcot, it needs a legit e-ticket attraction/land which Epcot wouldn't have room for imo. It's wild that it hasn't already happened. DHS is also the only WDW park without a water related attraction! Like I said in a post less than an hour ago, bring over the Shanghai Pirates ride system but do it for Moana. It would fit so well.

If Moana should go anywhere, it's the Fire Mountain/Adventureland plot in Magic Kingdom.

I thought similarly when I saw what Testa posted, and I guess it gives me hope that it might not be Zootopia. I think that announcement would get (mostly) a shrug from the theme park community, and have very little traction outside of it.

If the objective (and it's debatable whether or not this even should be Disney's objective) is to take PR away from the opening of your competitor's new park, it needs to be a LARGE announcement.

How about finally giving the Incredibles a major E-ticket?

Whatever ends up happening, they have got to finally create the connection over to Sunset that the park really needs for improved flow.

I'm not completely disagreeing with you, but Disney isn't completely logical with these things. So if we're going by how they're operating currently, Moana being at DHS makes sense for them lmao.

Good points all about. Will concur that Moana in MK/Fire Mountain makes a lot of sense, and with the streaming numbers the franchise gets consistently, it makes sense that Moana is going to get something due. I’d argue more than Zootopia, especially with how much they push it to be a bigger franchise than even Frozen.

Debated in Incredibles too, partly as it isn’t like it’s a dead franchise and people do love the original. But I think two Pixar IPs with a emphasis on a metropolitan feel might be a bit much.

Honestly that’s also why I think Simpsons makes sense too, because Orlando doesn’t have a proper “Springfield” to the extent of the genius that is USHs. You’d have a hook due to the regional elements, especially if it means giving The Simpsons finally a full on E-Ticket worthy of the IP.

Sounding like someone who has never been to Orlando's Springfield, lmao. I just don't ever see Disney doing anything with this IP beyond photo ops and M&Gs. Maybe in 15-20 years if it's still popular, but for now? There's no way they give it a full land or attraction. There's other IPs they need to put in the parks first and I don't see them priorizing Simpsons at all. Another problem with your argument is that this rumored announcement is supposed to be big. Something to get people talking and get attention away from Epic. Simpsons wouldn't do that AT ALL. It wouldn't move the needle not even one bit. I also don't think it's something people would be excited for. It's already been at USF/USH for nearly 20 years and people complain about it being at those parks. No matter how different they do it people just wouldn't care. It's a redundant IP and having it to come to the Disney parks right after (at least relatively after) would be a weird ass decision.

I have no inside info but you are all forgetting a possible replacement for AC. Think about it: That area currently features Disney Jr, plus various character meets, and it's right next to MMRR. Where is that located in Disneyland?

Idk if that would move the needle enough, though.

If WDW hadn't already tried this before I would understand but... we had ToonTown Fair and they got rid of that. I don't see them trying it again lol. Also like you said, wouldn't move the needle. Though I'll say it would be cute

I'm hung up on trying to make IPs thematically make sense, you know what i mean?
I'm STILL hung up on some of the RIDE related decisions they've ALREADY made.

Hollywood Studios:
Avatar(not AK), Indiana Jones(not AK), Tron(not MK), Marvel(not EP), Pirates, Roger Rabbit and even then there are cartoons i could see fitting in here, like Incredibles or Big Hero 6

Magic Kingdom:
Encanto(not AK), Wreck It Ralph, Brave, Tangled, Beauty and the Beast, Wish (Coco) or even expanding the Pixar that are already there, Toy Story(not HS), Monster's Inc. (not HS)

EPCOT:
Moana, Mulan, Wall-E, Inside Out, Coco, Elemental, Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins (Wreck It Ralph)

Animal Kingdom:
Zootopia, Lion King, Jungle Book, Raya (Moana)

I'm not saying i want all of these things in these parks, i'm just saying that when you break them down they have pretty clear spots imo.

If this means Universal gets to fast track Pokemon for USF ahead of a 2030 debut, I'm all for it.

Size wise, I think Animation Courtyard is the smallest of the DHS expansion plots so I would be okay with Simpsons going there vs something like Indy+Star Tours.
