when the reviews don't make the first viewings...I kinda figured it would and I'm not surprised by the mixed/negative reactions. It was a live action film that no one asked for and a lot of the original would not fly in today's time.

Coraline was a great underrated movie but I assumed wrongly it was Burton as a lot of people probably did. Too bad it would have been his best movie in years if that were the case.

LA Times is reporting that the film budget is $170 million, which is pretty insane considering Dumbo is more of a B-list entry in Disney's animated catalogue. That means it will have to pull in about $500 million worldwide to break even in an age where the home video market is dying. I'll be stunned if it hits those numbers.

That was a Laika film.

Everything Laika does is brilliant.
