Unless Disney and Universal have worked something out, I do not believe that Black Panther will be coming to Epcot.

That said, they have some functional RVs for the SIM ride right across the street. Just sayin'.

If we got Black Panther at IOA I don't think they could use anything from the movie, it would have to be just on the comic books, right?

Yes. Which isn't a big deal for Black Panther himself--movie costume closely resembles the comic. Bigger problem would be Man-Ape--they understandably did a pretty major retcon on his look for the movie (not to mention not calling him "Man-Ape"). Actually, not sure of Kilmonger's history, he may or may not be covered by the contract, depending when he debuted. In the end, best bet would probably be an off-the-shelf ride, like Dr. Doom, painted black with some jungle foliage around it.

BTW, in case my previous posts aren't clear, Jim Hill is insane on this--there's no question but that BP is in the F4/Avengers family. This isn't a close case like Rocket or Groot.

Yeah, the only way Disney gets their hands on BP for Orlando is if a deal is cut.

I feel bad, because while I've never met him, Jim Hill is a friend of a friend, and by all accounts the nicest guy in person, great story-teller. But he used to do little rumor "notes" in the Unofficial Guide--and if you go back and read them, upwards of 80% didn't pan out. He's just not a credible source.

As we've mentioned before, much of his insider info is real, it's just usually so early that it never pans out, but originates from a real place. Just consider most of his info internal blue sky, and it's certainly fascinating to see a little bit of the behind the scenes processes going on.

"Great story teller". Yep. ;)

How would the new proposed Illuminations work? Other than changing the story, what could they do differently in terms of show systems. I can only see them adding in water fountains WoC like, and more permanent barges or fireworks locations to launch.

EPCOT has always been in my opinion the worst park in WDW. Hated it as a kid, hate it now. I understand its a park about learning and educating yourself. But, it just doesn't appeal to me. But, I can understand why you would like it.
Future world, is a disaster. Disney just needs to bulldoze that entire area. Except, Spaceship Earth. Even though it does need updating.
World Showcase I actually somewhat enjoy. But, it needs MORE RIDES! Disney needs to add an attraction to every single country. I don't care if its IP related or not. Guardians of the Galaxy is a good start. For all the people complaining that Guardians doesn't fit. My answer is, who cares? This park is a shell of its former self.

WoC style fountains only would work if they are in addition to a larger show. The lagoon is too large.

Also, regarding Frozen. You guys need to realize that theres NOTHING for kids in this park. Nemo? please. My sisters hated this park. But, now with Frozen they loved it. Let the kids have some form of enjoyment. When I read these posts of people complaining about Frozen I just sigh so hard. I get it, EPCOT is for adults. But, adults bring there kids because they have no choice. Malestrom sucked anyway.

People don't hate Frozen. They just think that presenting the fictional country Arendale as THE cultural representation of the country of Norway is intellectually dishonest and smacks of crass commercialism and the exact opposite of educating people. It is taking advantage of their ignorance and laughing all the way to the bank.

It's like building Wakanda and presenting it as a representation of the real Africa.

"People don't hate Frozen" - I beg to differ.

They don’t. What Disneyhead said is all correct, but most fans biggest issue with it was that it was a quick change when the IP really deserves much more like it’s getting in Tokyo.
So I'm wrong?

Just because theres a Frozen attraction in EPCOT doesn't mean WDW will never get a Frozen attraction similar to Tokyo and Paris. Disney has a history of having the same IP in multiple parks within the same resort.

to be fair...my daughter (8), thought the Frozen ride was underwhelming, and was more impressed with Spaceship Earth, Nemo, and even (gulp) Imagination.

We had a fast pass too.

her favorite ride was Test Track though...

Thats all opinion. My sisters felt that Frozen was the best ride at the park. What is FACT is that EPCOT needed another ride for the kids.

It’s possible an area gets built someday somewhere else in WDW I suppose, but it would make little budgetary sense at this point considering how much work the parks still need.

If they wanted a full-on Frozen land, we would’ve gotten one already, or at least hear of something in the pipeline. Norway’s “re-skin” is all of what we’re getting for the foreseeable future.
