NGL, it's always hilarious seeing Californians surprised that they're getting this when they're already home to some of the best coasters on the planet. X2, Ghostrider, Twisted Colossus, Xcelerator, Railblazer, etc. The only thing y'all are missing is a B&M airtime machine.

I think the thing that kind of makes it prevalent is that outside of arguably Gold Striker (I'd argue that more than Railblazer), Full Throttle and Hangtime; that there wasn't a real "Stand-out" coaster from the 2010's that came out of California. And that in none of that time, was there a true, modern coaster on the level of a Intamin or Vekoma that felt as grand and massive in scale.

This feels more like a return to the 2000's era feel of massive and giant coasters that dominate the park they are in, especially with how much the coaster means symbolically for USH. I think in consideration to what it'll do in context of everything else from the past decade, that it deserves to be seen as a standout.

Off-topic, but as a North Californian, loosing Gold Striker is going to hurt so much. Joker is pretty solid (honestly underrated, notice how you didn’t mention it in the 2010s standouts) but man, I’m gonna miss Gold Striker. Its like Junior Ghostrider that’s close to me :(

Why cant Nor Cal get cool stuff? Eventually, all we’ll have is Discovery Kingdom and Gilroy Gardens. At least we have what is arguably the king of B&M Floorless being Medusa (barring Kraken).

But I digress, Hollywood Drift will be the first big budget coaster in California in like 20 years, last being arguably being Tatsu.

Perhaps not the most exciting movement, but movement of the train nevertheless (caught Wednesday night)

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is about to seemingly begin testing.

For the initial tests, it seems they have all the Dodge Charger vehicles linked together to make up a train, and will be conducting the tests with these vehicles first before having the full train setup. All four vehicles are wrapped with the Zebra Camo, and all have dummies.

It would be great if they started testing, but I personally don’t expect it to happen until the scream shields are done being constructed.

From what it seems they seem to be setting up temporary fencing that indicates otherwise.

It was also noted of the community line of launch testing, so I am expecting it (if albeit after the rain lets up).
