I just wanna say I really appreciate Universal letting everyone know the closing was being moved up to now. They could've very easily closed it for HHN, and just never reopen it for the original 2027 closing, but they actually made sure to let people know this was it to say goodbye.

Every attraction IMO, no matter how bad or hated it is, should at least get its formal closing date known so that proper goodbyes can be done, both ironically and for whatever fans it does have.

I'm looking at you Disney. I'm still mad I didn't get to have a proper goodbye for Stitch or RnR's preshow.

So what’s replacing this attraction? I think it’s JAWS.

Rumors so far have ranged from Jaws to BTTF to a behind-the-scenes effects show to Twisters so far.

I'll post the review of the last day later, but I do think while the idea was nice, they should've closed the ride on a non-UOAP Passholder event night. It kinda got chaotic when the two crowds mixed, and there was a lot of confusion everywhere.

That said, it was a fun last ride with everyone in on the joke.

I'm very surprised they gave this ride closing as much fan fare as they did. I know they have another F&F ride coming, so maybe that's why, but still. Very surprised.

Fast & Furious: Supercharged Closed Permanently, But What Will Replace It?

Fast & Furious: Supercharged at Universal Studios Florida is closed forever, but what will be replacing it (if anything)?
orlandoparkstop.com orlandoparkstop.com

@Alicia lays out current rumors as such:

- TWISTERS
- Nothing, sits vacant indefinitely.
- A series of temporary "black box" (i.e. minimal theme) overlays.

None of those are ideal, but I think the last two would be unacceptable. So if it's TWISTERS or those, I'll take TWISTERS.

But it's a bummer there's nothing more grand/exciting being rumored (especially if Springfield is potentially not going away for another indefinite period).

It's an attractions arms race with Disney clearly ahead....Universal 'could possibly' catch up, but unfortunately, they are going to have to pour a ton of money into the UK park. That will probably greatly limit budget available for Orlando, especially with the spin off looming in the next year. The new entity won't have as deep pockets as they have with Comcast.

To be fair, Universal did just open an entire theme park. I would say they've invested a ton compared to what WDW has upcoming. I imagine by 2030/2031, the level of investment will be on par for both companies on their properties.

With what WDW has on tap, I foresee and hopefully Universal execs see if that people will hit up Disney and if they go to UOR, will likely skip USF if all it has is Hollywood Drift and a reskinned Supercharged and decides to do something about Springfield.

Missing The Carousel of Progress refurb?

Edit:
Also, take note, JP River Adventure is rightfully not listed here. I think that's a misstep from Universal in not adding anything new to the ride.

Post-D23, I'm actually less concerned for UOR than I was last week. Don't get me wrong, I think Disney has a bunch of great looking stuff on the way, and they're poised to turn MK specifically into a juggernaut, but the Disney timeline is very vague, and likely protracted. It's going to be more than a few years before all this comes online.

We know nothing about the Epcot redos, and I doubt we see Villains land in the 2020s. I also think it's a stretch to count Piston Peak and Monstropolis as significant new lands, but maybe the execution on those will prove me wrong. Monstropolis looks cool, but beyond the coaster, the land itself doesn't feel additive compared to what was there before.

Yup, Epic is great but if you have an entire other park being skipped out on, that’s an issue.

While Piston Peak is technically part of an existing land, it’s a major expansion featuring two new rides and likely some shopping and dining.

Ignoring Muppet Vision, that whole courtyard back there was lacking. It does appear that they are making an effort to bring this area to life. It’s not Cars Land, but it’s a vast improvement that will help add more utilized areas at DHS.

To add on, Disney announces early and Universal stays quiet. We’ll likely see the LC replacement before Villains opens (and maybe even Peak). I can’t imagine what sort of projects Uni will have open before Imagination 3. We want universal to invest more, this is good.

That's true. I haven't kept up with how far along either of these two lands (Villains, Peak) are at MK. With the way that UO moves compared to WDW, I could definitely see LC replacement opening ahead of that. More investment is good. Should be interesting to see what we get when the dust all settles.

I'd put Everest on there as well. I have to imagine that Everest gets a few more extra bells and whistles if they're going to put so much money into fixing the Yeti.

If we're counting Everest, why not add JPRA's refurb to the Uni side? Why not add Horror Make-Up?
