The new lagoon Christmas show could be for 2017 rather than 2016. Just guessing of course.

True, it could be for a 2017 show that they are just starting to plan. That would make more sense than all the other scenarios.

The height balloons on property today looked in excess of 200ft, and were also located behind MIB/Simpsons.

No way it had anything to do with a ride.

No. They were way taller than anything they'd build.

Darn it. Then it is show related. Sigh... But I guess good news is that they are looking at a new show, but then again it may be for a hard ticket event.

Ok, these balloons are most likely for a fireworks show. I think we can agree on that.

I will hold my hope they are pulling a switcheroo and we get a Jaws attraction in this space but the aerials from the last few days of the sheet piling being installed so they can dig doesn't look like that is happening. I can only dream.

CineSpec doesn't use anything you couldn't buy yourself as a consumer.

But they certainly "can" - IOA's old show used to use the "real deal" stuff and still does for private events.

Not at all... it is a long time ago agreed to rule of 200' max for buildings. Not sure how fireworks are handled but there are agreements sorta with exceptions for the big holidays. I believe it is the noise primarily that holds them back.
