To invest in a year-long refurbishment of an attraction Universal knows is junk would be ridiculous.

Has to be a replacement... right?

Please?

That's if the closure rumor is even true.

I'm a little bit skeptical of this claim. Whether this is an actual refurbishment or a retheme, we should be hearing about it officially right about now. We already have dates for River Adventure's year-long refurbishment starting in January, and The Hogwarts Express's short refurb in February. Information about an extended Supercharged closure is just as pertinent, and Universal would give notice well in advance.

I'm trying to imagine what the timeline would be for the new additions if there's a 12-month closure starting early next year. I've been assuming the coaster is spring-summer 2027, so would that be 2 new attractions for USF in one year?

This is also a hang up for me too, but on the other hand it's a new fiscal year and several projects might have gotten the go ahead very recently.

If it's indeed that long of a closure, it's got to be a re-theme. There's nothing in there that would require close to a year long refurb. I still think this is like putting lipstick on a pig if it gets the rumored BTTF retheme, but if they can somehow add a few more practical elements and a scene or two, I'm all for whatever they can manage.

Universal has announced a couple closures for Supercharged in the past on short notice. And also reopened it on short notice.
It's not a valued attraction and is probably open through the Holidays since they need the capacity, especially with RRR gone.
My money's on the retheme. Heck, they demolished the building and built Transformers in a year. Supercharged is a relatively
new building. Timeframe sounds OK for something new. Lots of room inside there.

There's a big difference between a brief closure due to unforeseen events and a year-long planned closure.

*BTTF here is the F&F Supercharged replacement. I hope it's BTTF or GB.

Maybe the ultimate plan is to give USF an ultimate "2-ride" punch in 2027, then IOA in 2028, then EU SNW expansion in 2028/29, then back to USF in 2030?

If I were in charge I could have the Simpsons replacement be for 2029 and the SNW expansion (Zelda anyone) be for 2030 as it would be fitting for EU's 5th anniversary.

So this pretty much confirms that the HRRR replacement is indeed F&F

Considering Hollywood Drift if it sticks the landing seems to be the best coaster in the west coast, I think yall shouldn’t sweat.

I think the Tomfoolery account is done sadly. IMO, the user revealed too much classified intel and that caused Universal to crackdown.

I have to imagine a retheme would take longer than one year?

I mean, that building and queue would also need to be heavily changed.

Rethemes at most take no more than a year and a half. Especially when they're mostly media-based rides.

If you were to retheme something like Supercharged into BTTF (or Ghostbusters/Godzilla/etc.) they'll likely retain most of the city//gritty theme with the bulk of the work likely at the facade and musion screens.

Yeah that would be awful. Such a huge building screams for detailed sets and a stunning dark ride where screenz are only there to enhance the scenes.

Well, a party bus still goes faster than the simulators did…. Just saying.
